Thanks
we have a date set and I have sent out information to the immediate family on both sides.Spent most of yesterday on the phone (hard work with my chesty cough) but I did manage to take my new best friend M for a walk round a local lake so she was happy. Then did some patio clearance. There's still building works stuff that has to go in a skip, and scrap metal that I need to arrange to be collected but it looks much better.Quite a disturbed night due to my various sleeping companions. Priorities are to make sure I have everything I need for this afternoons appointment, to take M out so she doesn't cause chaos while we are out and to try and do a bit more outside while it isn't raining. Need to strip down the greenhouse and polytunnel at some point. The grass has had a huge growth spurt so the boys will need to do that.Probably should think of something I can make ready to just heat up when I get back. The tricky bit is coming up with something that at least 2 of the 3 of us will eat. When we got the call and did the long dash to the hospital nobody had eaten, so on the way back late at night we stopped and picked up popcorn chicken from the last services which they will both eat. Apparently it will forever be the meal for bad news so I may just pick that up on the way home again. For me the trigger association will always be the chickpeas - I had just put them in the instant pot when I got the first phone call. Trouble is they are a weekly staple here so I have to get over that pretty quickly or DS2 will starve.Anyway the sun looks to be out so I had best crack on with the paperwork quickly before I take M out.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hope it goes as smoothly as possible this afternoon.
Good idea having one easy meal dedicated to horrible associations.

Sending love Redo. So before so left I went and paid the deposit for the after the funeral beige buffet, and came back via the co op so I got pizza for a quick shove in the oven option. Glad I did because I was shattered when I got back.
lots of copy certificates and the number for the gov bits so I can make some sort of start on that today. The bereavement grant should come through fairly quickly at least but who knows on the timetable for the rest of it.I intend to sell one of the motorbikes immediately, apart from anything else I can't move in the garage. One or both of our cars needs to go. Same age. His is lower mileage, more valuable, better condition, but also quite big to park. I prefer driving mine but things are starting to go wrong with it. Need to make a decision on that shortly or they'll transfer to me automatically and add an extra owner.Today's plan therefore is some paperwork, an hour outside in some form and then back to tidying inside so I can finish filling the giant bin. I should get something out of the freezer for dinner but that involves the garage. Upsets me to see the bikes randomly. Worst bit of yesterday is that it's an hours drive, second half is nice twisty motorcycle roads and it was a fairly regular day out for us over the years. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I can imagine that seeing the bikes and driving a familiar route must be very hard ….
Mr KK’s mum was very eager to get the last bike gone and over to ours, I think for exactly the same reasons.Could you send one of the sons into the garage to go rummaging in the freezer …?Good luck with the paperwork and enjoy the outside session 😊

Makes sense to sell the bikes, and probably the car. Then upgrade your car in a bit to something reliable that fits your needs. As you’ve had the tyres and brakes done it should be OK for a bit… but then you know I drive mine until my mechanic makes me change it!
Good idea of KK’s to get the boys to look in the freezer. It does highlight that getting rid of the bikes should be a priority once the paperwork and funeral are done.5 -
I agree with green bee re the car. You have enough stressors currently without adding a bigger harder to park car to the mixMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes.
