I’ve seen those vets advertised at our vets, Rainbow vets I think they’re called. My dog is 12 and that’s absolutely what I’d do for her when the time comes rather than take her to the vet practice as she hates going there.I think bad things happening seem to attract more bad things. I’ve had 2 years like that - 2000 and 2013 😞I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

One of mine decided to join in the 'let's go to the vet' party today. Her dew claw is split into the quick. Blood but no infection. Could explain the recent grumpiness. I'd clipped it because it was looking ragged, and realised it was ragged again so looked closer. Vet has clipped it, cat is happily consuming pain killers and thankfully not showing any sign of wanting to go out tonight. She doesn't need to be kept in, but I'm fully expecting her to make it worse ...5

Not a nice thing to have had to do, but the right thing, and I'm glad you were able to have the vet come to you xx

Thanks everyone. Apologies for the succession of depressing posts.
anyway today WILL be a better day.Last night I got to share my bed with a dog, a cat and a kitten. No chance of getting cold and lonely at least. All very civilised and no bickering for space.Yesterday I washed all of the rugs (poor dog was struggling with bladder control in his final days) and left them on the line overnight. I will see if any are salvageable this morning and add any that are not to the huge waste bin. I also scrubbed the floors. Smells a lot better for it. Some outside clearing of junk from the patio. I am hoping to get more outside clearing done today if the clear weather holds.
the date for the funeral should finally be confirmed today and I have a few phone calls I need to make about that. Also need to start gathering photos for the hand out booklet over the weekend. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
