I could spend today looking at the phone willing it to ring but I am very bored of that now.
today the local council are bringing me extra bins and recycling stuff, then I have a week to fill them. Far cheaper than a skip and a lot easier than constant tip runs.
Need to go out and buy some bin bags and some actual food might be a good idea.Last night I made an excellent variation on theCarrot and cashew biriani that I used to make (good food recipe). I made it with half chickpeas/half rice/onion/grated carrots/peas and 15 cashew nuts and a squeeze of lemon juice at the end. It was very nice, a lot of chewing but tasty. The chickpeas was a suggestion in the comments but it worked really well.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hurrah, I finally have an appointment to register the death at the weekend. Once I have those multiple copies then I will be able to move the financial stuff forward. The funeral can now be confirmed too.
Such a relief to get to this stage.

Thanks everyone - yes I have several volunteers to go with me.
Yesterdays excitement was a dash to the vets with the kitten, who had managed to get a splinter high up in her gumline which was infected. She had to stay for a few hours and have an anaesthetic so that they could clear it out for her. Lump by her nose (hard to tell on a black cat) but when she was giving me head bumps I could smell that something wasn't right so I got her straight in. More money gone but I am glad I took her and agreed to the anaesthetic because it was clearly going to get steadily worse for her, poor baby.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
