A fairly subdued few weeks from me because we lost Mrs Brady Old Lady to general old age. She was my constant companion, and the only lap cat of the household, and after 17 years of her supervising my activities it is most odd to be cooking alone. Cried a river. From an MSE perspective my microwaves may last longer (she slept on them) and the gas bill will drop (she slept on the boiler and was very naughty about pressing boost) and the building works will no longer be delayed by the site fireman going to sleep in the sawdust. She was a top quality full on personality bad tempered one person focussed cat of lifetime and I miss her very much.
For the first time in twenty years I didn't have a black cat. How long was that going to last?My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Oh Redo, I am so sorry. MBOL sounds like a true character and devoted to you. Sending hugs.FWIW, if you decide that at some point you want another lap cat, rescue an older, female cat who will appreciate the life you give them. That’s what we had in Floof (I am still missing her), our two teenage tearaways are still pretty much ignoring us …. 🤷♀️

So sorry to hear about Mrs Brady Old Lady. She sounds like she was a brilliant cat and I thoroughly respect her choices of sleeping dominions. She was obviously much loved and knew it x

Thank you everyone. She is very much missed, and yes @northAthenian all of my cats have real names, and daily names and nicknames for the internet.
Mrs Brady was very much a real cat, and was actually 'George' which was short for 'and I will hug him and kiss him and call him George' from Bugs Bunny, only I neglected to check the gender. She quickly became 'George, Don't do That'in my best Joyce General impression, and was Mrs Brady from Viz for the internet. As well as 'Dead George' on Facebook due to her habit of pretending to be dead upside down with all four legs in the air wherever you needed to be standing or working. Or Toothless because she was black, had no teeth left and was clearly a night fury. Oh I miss her. Can you tell?
anyway, 'little princess' has joined us. Also black and 9 weeks old and being trained as a lap cat and tap drinker. Missing out the boiler stuff this time.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
