oh wow is that like the Bolitas that you used to be able to get in Oxford market? I was so upset when they closed!

No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Booths! Choux pastry buns with custard, cream and coffee icing. The ones I had had chocolate covered coffee beans on top
and a rather splendid dark blue canvas bag with 'morecambe and pies' on itMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I'm afraid the buns sound filthy to me!
The bag though...brilliant!

Money - too tight to mention this month due to vehicle expenses. Yes I have the savings for it. No I don't like spending them. Could do with joining in the general squeaky budget July.
garden - no more spending although I do have lots of things to plant now that we have had some rain and can use a trowel rather than a pickaxe. Very little from the veg plot but the slugs are rather chubbier.
Food - need to do a freezer and cupboard audit. Today I made choux pastry, glad I still have the knack. Filled with whipped cream, half with coffee icing for me, half with chocolate sauce. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I mustn't fritter on unnecessary things but tomorrow Lidl have an ice cream maker for £13 (with the App). It's one of the ones where you freeze the disc and it basically churns. We had one years back which I used so much that the motor eventually gave up. Mr Redo does eat decent ice cream and I like sorbets so I am tempted.Today I must mince the beef skirt before it goes out of date, or make a lot of beef curry. I also promised to make cabbage and chorizo soup as a celebration meal for DS1 (his choice!) using worlds smallest savoy cabbage. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
