We tend to buy seed & fat balls from the RSPB as we're confident of the quality and the fat balls seem more popular than others we've tried. Our "standard" for the feeders is the Table Mix which we supplement with kibbled peanuts - although those are far more tricky to get since Wilkos folded.
Boo to the slug - I'm keeping a beady eye on my broad bean seedlings as I suspect those will prove popular should any slugs spot them.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I am not a huge fan of all the 'discount card' offers and the way they work but worth noting that the MrM 'Collectors' credits the spend value before the discount - so I could have bought one leg of lamb at £20 to get £3 of points, and paid £10 in real money, so £7 after discount. Same with multi buysMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Cucumbers and courgettes came through nicely, definitely faster in the heated propagator. I have peppers and aubergines to pot on but the chillis still haven't pushed through. Lots to do outside but when the weather has been ok we have mostly been out walkingMy mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I have some tired lemons that I want to use rather than waste, and planned on making lemon curd. @greenbee reminded me of the lightly frozen lemon curd and whipped cream pudding that I have made before which would work as a little GF indulgence, only no sugar! I blame housekeeping.
The lemons have moved to the fridge, and sugar will arrive tomorrow. Mildly horrified at how a few restocks have added hugely to our weekly food shop, it certainly all adds up very quickly. Spices, oil, and some pastes have added a lot, but generally worth it for pence per taste.I have chopped ready for roasting the last of the veg for pennies - just a few onions and potatoes left. I have added to the frozen parsnip collection which will keep me going till the first winter frosts. I've never had any success with growing them, but there is only me who likes them so a c60p bag goes a long way tbh. The potatoes and onions went into a cotton bag in a dark cupboard as soon as they arrived and will cope for another few weeks yet.A lot spent on tools and materials in recent weeks which is necessary but hurting our savings. The only positive number is that the new tax year should mean a nice refund for me once I put my return in.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
