I've got quite a few beans and peas sprouted ready to put out too, plus I must add some support to the B-road beans tomorrow. I've turned the heat off for the chilli seeds but they may yet sprout - they are a few years old though.
I forgot to mention that my much used kenwood chef has died at the not very old for a Kenwood age of 14, with the part in question discontinued a few years back. If anyone spots a Kenwood bargain please do shout up.

Also any views on bare root strawberry plants? Suttons have 24 Cambridge favourites for £12 delivered, I've got 5 or 6 not very tasty live plants from the orange diy place a few years back in the polytunnel but they appear to be on their last legs. I like strawberries and make nice jam, but I am not convinced by bare root stuff this late in the season. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Have you been in touch with Kenwood? A pleasant email might get you at least a money-off voucher...2

If they're not dead, I can send you my spare runners. I have 12 new Cambridge favourite (possibly from Suttons/T&M) in with the old ones as I couldn't remember which ones were how old.3

Thanks for the offer Greenbee
PIP has to be worth a try thanks for the idea but I notice they have little of interest in their website - the 6.7 litre will not fit in my kitchen

I mostly got side tracked with garage tidying but I did get some canes into the second raspberries, and found and levelled a water butt base and added a water butt next to the greenhouse as a result. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

That's excellent garden progress there. Strawberries are something we've currently decided are a no - in our relatively limited space, they will take up more space than the value they will give, allowing that during the summer strawbs are cheap anyway.
Our tomatoes have grown to a size of a few inches and seemingly stopped. They're looking nice and sturdy, but need to crack on and get growing, now. Hopefully once they've got their roots into the growbags and bigger pots they'll wake up a bit.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I just re-read my post and remembered that I left the top water butt leaking into a bucket. It was full and it needs emptying prior to a move, but not down the lawn. Whoops.
im feeling a bit overwhelmed by the sheer volume of what needs to be done in the garden and am currently envious of tiny gardens. Trying to focus on making the first bit of patio nice to sit in, sorting the tunnel, greenhouse and the veg plot, oh and getting the climbing roses planted, and some weeding, and the front is over run with sticky weed and....
I didn't order the strawberries - like you say EH, a lot of space. I did visit that rare beast, a small local independent garden centre where we got two climbing roses (pink, fragrant) to backfill the huge gap I made on the church wall side - the idea being that they will eventually be a prettier hop the wall deterrent that the previous brambles. Also picked up a few plants for pots and some runner beans, broad beans. Less than the price of the one rather lovely DA rose that I liked. The slugs have eaten all
of my French beans. Gits. And I have some lovely little mining bees tunnelling in the greenhouse. I know they are low hazard so I'm hoping I can get the tomatoes in without stressing them.Food wise mostly salad. Tidied the freezer when it was too hot to be outside and found a nice
gammon joint that will cover the next few days if I boil some eggs.
money? None left, spent it all on binoculars, and winter merino kit. As you do. Not jumpers for once though. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I totally get the feeling overwhelmed by the garden thing …
I am strongly focusing on the bits that look good / pretty rather than the ‘out of control’ bits with vigorous squint! 😉😂
