DIA I know my triggers, but eat things I shouldn't anyway. Nice bread with HM jam may be lovely but it does me no good whatsoever. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

The skip is not filling itself. Must focus on this but it is very hot which isn't helping. DS1 said last night it is amazing how many non time bound jobs we do when there is a time bound one to finish, and he is quite right. I did build a flat pack stand for my new bathroom yesterday, which generated some polystyrene waste.
Today I am on a bit of a tidying and cleaning mission because I am at the ashamed if anyone arrives unexpectedly stage again and I want to try and shake off the 'what is the point of anything' lethargy. It also might make me a bit more interested in cooking if the kitchen is back to clear and tidy.
I don't think I have ever had rhubarb jam INOD, something to try. The small rhubarb crown I put in earlier this year has taken really well so I hope we will have a crop next year.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I know exactly where your DS is coming from about the non-time bound jobs getting down. Story of my life.
But at least they eventually either get done or cease to matter, and the same is true of the time-bound jobs.
I'm sorry you are struggling with the 'what's the point of anything' lethargy, though it's understandable and the heat doesn't help. Sometimes this is where the garden might help - if it's not too hot to go out. Go and rescue the things that need water, or pot something on, perhaps. Little living things need your care! And in turn they give back to you.

Wise words from Cherryfudge
I think the heat and the clouds we sit under make us lethargic from time to time. I find the old flylady "you can do anything for 15 mins" really helps. I set a timer and pick a place and just do 15 mins then I can go back to mindless nothingness and somehow the 15 mins really helps shift things.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!9
