Getting the bathroom done by yourself is a huge achievement. Well done.

So glad your bathroom is coming along nicely. Hope the skip is filled uneventfully and you are lounging in a nice bath very soon 😊 xx4

Just catching up and in awe of your achievements! Are you going to have that lovely dragon picture up opposite the bath to celebrate?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

The bathroom sounds lush and perfect to use every dayDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thank you all for your kind comments. The plaster has had time to dry now and I guess I could paint it but it has been too hot. Raining today (hurrah!) so I might get a mist coat on.I did book a small skip for the waste from the works and then realised you can't put plasterboard etc in which is mildly annoying as I also have a few bags of perished plaster to go from the garage. Defeats the point of having the skip really if I still have to go to the tip and pay per bag too! Anyway, plenty of other scrap bits to go in and it might help me clear the top hall for plastering.Lots of raspberries from the garden plus a few strawberries and tasty tomatoes. I made some seedless raspberry jam last week which was very nice indeed. I am trying not to waste things but also to adjust to what we will actually eat. Like freezing things that you didn't actually like very much in the first place. Anyway I did remember to grate and freeze the cheddar before it went mouldy but I must check through the fridge today for anything else that needs using. It has mostly been too hot to bother.
Ive been doing an online session on making a hex cardigan in crochet (seemed apt) which is turning out quite well. I don't think I would have persevered with a pattern so this zoom based weekly thing has been very useful. It has given me a bit more confidence to try actual patterns once I finish the current project. Mind you I was in the middle of making a second cat bed (loosely based on a 'use it up' pattern for crocheted baskets that someone kindly linked to on the use up your stash crafting thread) that I need to finish before I start something else. PP likes to sleep in my first attempt, probably because she thinks it is a jumper that someone has left unattended.Someone told me this week that there are two yarn based hobbies, one being using it, and the other collecting it. This appears to be very true and I must stop looking at yarn as well as stop looking at plants when I don't have specific projects ready to start.I do need to buy some smaller underwear though. Wearing a dress for the first time in a while made me spend all day vaguely conscious of the looseness. There was a healthy eating type book I meant to go back and download that was about 30s - 30g of protein, fibre and the eat 30 plants things. Must see if I can find it again, or does anyone know the one I mean? My fibro is flaring again and I know my poor eating habits do not help.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I hear you on the collecting plants and yarn thing … But at least the yarn doesn’t deteriorate and ie on you if you don’t find it a use or a home fast enough! 😉😂
Your tip sounds fierce! We would have to book but once we are in our tip we can put as many bags of gone off cement, plaster or similar in the hardcore skip, as we could transport there … 🤷♀️

Break the plaster board up into black sacks and put into your grey general rubbish ouncil bin, it may take several weeks, but it will be cheaper, no tip trips or charges at the tip.Or it the plaster board is still useful to someone put it on freecycle or fb foc.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

The book sounds interesting. My joints flared up in the night and I can see a direct link with eating and flare ups...
Annoying about the skip.
Jam sounds delicious.

KK, at least the wool doesn't need to be watered. Ooh I like this line of thought. I can hug it, and kiss it and call it George but it doesn't need expensive vet bills. ETA - Mrs Brady was called George for this exact reason, I had trained the children to do the Bugs Bunny quote 'but Daddy, if Mummy has a new kitten we can hug him and kiss him and call him george', only I neglected to check the gender.
The local tips are very strict, spot checks of your bag contents and I think c£3 per household bucket size for hardcore/soil/plasterboard type waste. The last two times we went we came away with a puncture hence my cheaper to get a skip item.
Kazwookie, good thinking as it is small off cuts. Funnily enough the council tip mans suggestion for very elderly paint tins was to shove it in a black bag and hide it in my household waste bin.
DIA I know my triggers, but eat things I shouldn't anyway. Nice bread with HM jam may be lovely but it does me no good whatsoever. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
