I agree @Watty1 the 15 minute thing is often what shifts me too...If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Yep, me too! Or listening to a podcast/video where someone else is doing something (eg cleaning) really helps me 😂😂 I loved the flylady home blessing hour podcast for that, and have been bereft since it disappeared a few weeks ago (after 17 years!!)
Having said that, it's far too hot for anything today, especially filling a skip 🥵 (I've been putting up a fence, but I probably wouldn't have bothered if we hadn't had friends round to help 😂)
Always happy to lend a hand with a job if you ever need one 😊 Will happily send photos of the state of my house in advance so there's no need to feel embarrassed 😂6 -
Yes I do the 15 minute thing too and find it really helpful - I found flylady when the children were toddlers, and got the whole of the previous house clear and clean ready to sell using the original threads here but we had far less space and stuff then. I do have fits of watching an episode of 'sort your life out' while clearing a space which also works.
As you say Cheery, far too hot to do much today although I have put a few things in and we have a lot of lifted turf ready to stack in as well but the drive is in full sun currently. The garage and outside workshop are unbearably hot so I came straight out again. I have till Friday, after that I would need to extend at £3 per day. It will irritate me to do that though, and it shouldn't actually be a problem.
Instead this afternoon I have prioritised setting up a spreadsheet for my yarn collection and needles. Task avoidance on a grand scale I know, but it is relatively cool in my little office thanks to the very thick stone walls. Waiting for it to cool down enough to water the garden and for my offspring to be willing to go outside, then we can have a short session of skipping things.
My crochet hex cardigan is nearly finished and is actually turning out really well, I would certainly wear it in the house as a winter warmer and I have learned a lot making it so the short course was worth the small investment.
I was reading about summer pudding over on @themadvix diary, and had to make a mini one for me as a little treat for later. It used to be a regular pudding when I was growing up and one of the few things I knew how to cook when I left home.

A reminder for anyone who did the k1ndle unl1mited three months offer when I did, it is due to re-charge you this week. I had a reminder email and cancelled.
Yesterday I focussed on the Snug which has slowly slid into Doglets room. Mr Redo used to sit in the corner of the sofa with her a lot and it is the worst room for memories as I still sometimes walk in and expect him to be there. It is also the room with the wood burner so I need to get it back to functional for winter. I had a good clear out round the stove, and exited a 'thing' he made that I have never particularly liked, it is concrete based so it has gone into the garden and I will use it as a planter. There is too much furniture and stuff for a small room so I am being ruthless, and I have shifted furniture round to suit me better. Poor Doglet is very fed up with me.
As some of you may know, I have (deliberately) lost some weight in recent months. I wore one of my nice linen dresses last week which was perfect for this weather, only I spent all day thinking my knickers were falling down. Have ordered some new knickers, although it doesn't seem that long since I exited all of the too small smalls! My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Exiting too small stuff seems to be the only way to guarantee weight loss. Well done.
Doglet will be happy once she realises you (and the fire!) will be joining her in the winter. As long as you haven't just furnished it with cardboard boxes for the cats...5 -
And just a quick post (doing 15 minute turns on the Snug and the Workshop) to say that the 30g Plan book I was looking at is £1.99 on K1ndle deal of the day. Hurrah for procrastination. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Your strength in dealing with those emotional things amazes me! I wonder if I'd have anything near to what you've shown us when the time comes?
I'm laughing at the smalls dilemma - surely you'd just whip them off if they did start sliding? Honestly who's to know what's happening under your dress? 😁🤣😘4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Well done on the weight loss, and for also keeping going with the emotional tasks."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5
