I am ok thanks for asking ladybird.
Tiny steps forward. I've emptied and filled the DW so I am not coming down to a mess at least.
Ordered some more heat logs while they are c£6 on H0mefire. Moved some potted bulbs out of the garage and into the greenhouse, and found the nice rubber mat for the car boot. Some more books sorted for rehoming. Ate all of the biscuits. Again. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Very productive, well done. Biscuits are the natural companion to books whether they're being sorted or read. I expect there's some sort of print-flour human catnip combo, that is only surpassed in its irresistiblity by adding a tea or wine. Pretty sure that's one of them sciences13

I ate all the biscuits yesterday so there weren’t any today.6

in some things in life the heart is important - days are a construct - there will
always be a before and after .. it’s just the before will get further away but the love is always there remembered and existingI went to a close friends 60th tonight - I did make sure to appreciate him, his fabulous friends and be glad I was there - life - the good stuff - flies past so quickDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

It was tea and biscuits rather than wine and biscuits for once PIP, nice Oat Flips that I brought back with me. Perfect with tea. There should have been wine but the village co-op had (outrageously) sold out of my preferred variety.
Everything seems to be triggering tears at the moment, better than bottling things up I guess. This too shall pass.
This morning I was rudely awakened at 6am by the fluffy alarm clocks, and by the time everyone had been fed, let out, in, out again, thumped each other, had second breakfast etc I was too cold and wide awake to go back to sleep. I ended up going to visit a couple of garden centres and a nice deli. If we had a day off together with no particular plan (when it was too cold to walk) we would do this garden centre and deli circuit, and half lunch in a nice pub so it was bittersweet do it on my own today. The deli was a shadow of its former self sadly but at least I didn't spend lots on patisserie and cheese. On the way back I finally remembered about the Friday F&V stall at the localish farm shop, and was quite impressed. My purchases included a jar of very local honey which I had been looking for for a while. Best of all, he told me that the stall is actually within walking distance in the village itself on a Monday morning which is perfect for me. I have the bulky food delivered every couple of weeks but a good source of F&V has been missing for a while.
Financial
Unexpected payout of £17 of cashback from TCB. Yes I had spent money to generate this but did not expect it to payout so I am classing it as a bonus. It also generated a £5 Azn voucher from my CC as an added bonus.
The cut in interest rates means my income will drop a little so I need to look again and make sure I am getting the best return in the short term until I am ready to make longer term decisions.
Need to stop spending on the garden! Still need compost for the beds.
House
Some decluttering progress, I just need to keep chipping away at it when I can.
Still not done anything about getting someone in to look at/quote on the external electrics
Need a second quote for the windows and the hardstanding repair rather than the easy option of just get the ones who have quoted to do it
Sadmin
Need to do something about closing the Ltd Co or not, or I will end up with another year of costs
Tree planting (to mark his grave) next week.

Difficult days but real progress. Lovely to find local F&V and honey, and nice to have the cashback.
What tree have you chosen for Mr Redo?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

Always feel very moved reading your thread and love what @LadyWithAPlan wrote.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
@cherryfudge it had to be one from a list so we chose a Rowan as it was one of his favourite trees. Looking at the info I can sprinkle wild flower seed but I'm also allowed to add snowdrops. I don't think there's much point until the very heavy clay has settled.@Watty1 me too on the words, one of the many things to make me cry this week.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
