Rowan is one of my favourites too, especially when the blackbirds feast on the berries. I seem to remember snowdrops do well when transplanted 'in the green', but they don't need to go deep so you might be able to put a few in quite soon - but you will be the best judge of that as I can't see how it looks.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

@cherryfudge yes I plan to at least try a few snowdrops once the tree is in. I have great drifts of them so it doesn't matter if the first ones don't take. I must check the list again to see what else is acceptable.
@LadyWithAPlan - don't fret, it was positive. I have always cried at books and films. I worry more about my fellow residents who don't cry.
Horrid weather here so no garden progress. I did go back to yesterdays garden centre to buy something I liked so that somebody can give it to me for my birthday in a couple of weeks.
House progress - I cleared his sleeping bag collection out of the airing cupboard, have wiped the shelves and will re-fill it with the bedding which has been decorating the dining table since I sorted and washed it all. It is in a neat pile so I may need to re-wash the top set if it has been used as a cat bed. His stuff has gone into one of the giant clip lock boxes and will go out to join the stacks in the garage when it stops raining. There was a nice big bit of velvet in the airing cupboard, can't think what it was bought for but it will come in useful.
I have actually done something about getting a handyperson in to have a look at some of the smaller jobs that are beyond my ability. That helps me to focus anyway because they will need to come in to quote for things.
Fritter? I used some of my B00ts points online to buy 2 x EA lip balm while it was 25% off, plus a 10% off code and free delivery. Still expensive but worth it (my new favourite), and I rarely shop there in person to use the points otherwise. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Oh redo it’s such early days just 5 months on, no wonder you’re still feeling emotional. Entirely normal, the first year is the hardest. You’ve done amazingly well getting so much done.I had snowdrops in my garden last year goodness knows what’s going on this year with them.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)10

Yes beanie, just me being lazy rather than writing it out. The Eight Hour Intensive Lip Repair Balm. I'm a sucker for lip salve and have problems with dry/chapped lips. This is a little jar that works for me, better than the more expensive e Lauder one that I had for Christmas. PIP was asking about lip balm recently which set me off looking for other options. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I’m not label driven but swear by the 8 hr range to the extent that it normally finds its way into Christmas stockings for ds and dd. The cream works wonders on burns too.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I was gifted the ES 8hr lip almost and it truly works wonders on cracked lips - must have a trawl through the rest of the range that I didn't even realize existed!
I picked up 3 tubes of Fat Oil lip balm in the post-xmas sales and find it works really well over the lip pigment I wear to work. Keeps them moist instead of the usual dry but pigmented by the end of the day.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 10 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 15 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!4 -
I am the same with labels - rather go basic when I can but some products really do stand out and often last for ages - and as such are perfect recipients of b&&ts points
Not really a lip balm lady maybe I should !@rtandon27 that fat oil sounds greatI will use my next boot* points on Or*gins ‘Mega Mushroom face tonic’ - it’s amazing on the skin and calming
think we are all on here saving but some makeup I find is worth the expenseI do however love Ch**el lipsticks -they last forever and I haven’t found any better
I also love M*c - their cleansing oil (though Kanebo also great ) and M@c eyeshadows are also far better than others and love their face & body foundation
for mascara I love M*c Stack and also YSL faux cils
(I have in my expensive past tried most high end brands or had them gifted )
