Apparently a robin is a symbol of remembrance. After Dad died we saw them everywhere, liked the idea that he was coming on our walks with us.7

I saw an unusual amount of robins after my dad died, and in odd places too. Makes you think..
Btw my (admittedly budget version) led face mask has done absolutely nothing to improve any aspect of my skin despite regular use for over six months so do consider if there are better uses of your money, though I do appreciate that my boat race might be beyond help 😁9 -
@PennysIntoPounds I am sure you have a beautiful face. Or may one cant improve on perfection
Science proves the LED works - to improve collagen production and cell generation, to heal, to minimise pores, to soothe acne quicker etc. However you do need to do it very regularly (I use mine 4-5 times a week for 20 mins and the NIR is the big wonder thing alongside the others. I wouldnt buy a led without NIR
Loving the Robin chatDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Funnily enough the roofers kept saying about the constant robins and that they felt like they were being supervised. I wanted to ask if they were muttering about how much it cost, and how they had wanted to do that job themselves.
Very cold here but the sun is shining at least. Laughing at myself because I am tutting at the skip contents, and will retrieve the decent wood and spare bits of guttering before I start filling it. I am thinking raised beds, bed edging, more water butts, carrot tunnels (bad soil for carrots here), pea channels or even village freecycle. Not the skip and landfill.
PIP the masks do seem quite hit and miss in the reviews, but I was working on the basis that I could always sell it if it wasn't any good for me. I am usually dry skin with black bags and a tendency to random spots. I have been using it for 8 minutes a day, 2 days out of 3 for a month and even I can see the difference - with the bonus of my dog allergy eyes not itching. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Love the idea of the robins muttering... I suspect they would also have been saying they could have done it better themselves
Enjoy your skip diving. Spare wood and guttering is definitely worth hauling out, but make sure you have somewhere to tidy it away so it's not annoying you between now and when you use it.7 -
On the day of my OH's funeral in the woods, we walked up to his plot from the parking area and a robin hopped all the way up in front of us. My head said it was the freshly turned soil that attracted him but my heart thinks it was OH keeping an eye on proceedings13

oh teapot, I know exactly what you mean. The poem he had saved on his phone, which was read at the open air service, includes the line 'I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight' and it was perfect for him and his beliefs. My last action when I lock up at night is to stand on the patio and say goodnight to the stars because after all 'I am the soft stars that shine at night'.
greenbee, yes I am making plenty of space to store stuff by being very ruthless about what I do keep and realistic about my skills and interest. The hard bit is remembering for example that the hot water cupboard is now empty and that is where bedding and spare curtains should go.
All full of grotty cold here so not a huge amount of progress today. I did clean all the animal hair off the stairs with a rather splendid little carpet scraper comb thing that bought last year from amzn. £5 for two, it was money well spent as the hoover attachment never seems to get all the hair off properly. It is quite satisfying to do and I took several handfuls off even though I had vacuumed. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
