Great launch into the New Year Redo! You've reminded me I have vitamins to take today. I did think of Flylady too but I think I've internalised some of that so I'll just try to add the sink tidy part more often as I found it really helped.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. That's a great list redo. I'm intrigued by the LED mask - please keep updating on how you get on with it!
I always incorporate Flylady's 'swish and swipe' into my daily bathroom cleaning routine. It takes so little time and produces such positive results! Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

@Cherryfudge @Seasidegal58 I have kept the shine the sink nightly and S&S the bathroom while my bath runs since the boys were little and find it really helpful. Its the longer term cleaning that I neglect, mainly because there is so much stuff in the way.
Last night I had a good tidy of the little study, filled the new filing drawers, etc. Much nicer place to be although I still need to do the wall shelf. I also talked myself out of buying a spare sherpa dressing gown (dunelm sale at £21) because lovely and warm as it is, that is the kind of behaviour that got us into this mess.
I have a huge skip, hurrah! It'll mostly be filled by the roof work rubble, but I sized up so I have room for extras. Need to let the builders know as they have a last bit of guttering to do and have promised they will tidy their rubbish into the skip before I pay the last instalment.
I made some very nice blueberry and banana muffins to use up tired fruit. Not on plan but they made me smile as I have never been able to make edible ones.
For future reference for me,
Muffin mix: Wet mix - 35ml oil, 1 egg, 60ml yoghurt, splash of vanilla, 2 small bananas - whizzed with the stick blender. Dry mix - 125g SR flour plus half teaspoon baking powder, sieved. Stir in 50g sugar. Tip the wet mix into the dry mix and lightly pull together with fork. Do not overmix. Add some blueberries (optional - could sub for chocolate chips). Fill six tray silicon muffin thing. 25 minutes at 170. Eat two while nobody is looking, consider freezing the rest.

Great news on the study, the skip, the resisting of the dressing gown, and most importantly edible muffins!4

@redofromstart - fabulous use it up of the bananas - OH is not too fussed on the idea of choc banana bread so we may have to find another use & that one sounds delcious!
I too S&S Flyladystyle in the mornings when I go for a shower - I figure it's the best time as I can hop straight in the shower afterwards and get clean. The shine your sink has unfortunately gone by the wayside as dishes are OH's job & he prefers to do them in the morning so I give the sink a good scrub on Saturday instead. I'm not sure if it's a Flyladyhabit, but I now put either jaws or minijaws round the ground floor once a day which keeps dust bunnies at bay!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! The muffins sound awesome!
Well done on resisting
@Seasidegal58 I have had a LED mask for 1.5 years now - its a game changer.. they really are great and make a difference to the skin. Mine has the NIR (near infra red) rays which are great for ageing skin - but even those with red/blue still work well
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Yesterday was mostly reading in bed till late morning, hair cut, bit of cleaning and then wrestling cats off the jigsaw for a bit.
I nipped out first thing to get F&V, which went well right until I locked my 'keyless' keys in a shopping bag in the car boot. It refused to unlock itself via the boot or the car doors. I ended up getting a taxi home, getting the spare keys and then a taxi back to the car. £30 and an hour wasted. A very cold experience too - I wasn't dressed for standing round glaring at the car and waiting for a taxi.
The builders did arrive today, finished off the last bits and did a huge amount of skip filling for me - very kind because they didn't just do their trade waste, but they also shifted the heavy and bulky things for me which is a real help. Half a skip for me to fill, plenty of time to do it and lots of things to fill it with. There are patches of emptiness in the house now but this should help move things along significantly.
They measured for quoting on the next bits too which will at least give me an idea of ball park figures. Windows, always going to be painfully expensive isn't it - and especially in this house as it is a long house with double aspect windows in several rooms. They will need access to the inside of every window so another motivation to get on with clearing and cleaning.
I need to fill the DW (it is empty at least - I ran it on a cleaning wash while I was cooking) and give the kitchen a quick clean. Hate coming down to the mess in the morning.
I am feeling much brighter this week which is a relief. Small steps forward help I think. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
