The photographing is a great idea. I’m similar in that I log it all on nutracheck and if the calories are too high then I have to keep cutting it down until it’s acceptable…and then I weigh it out. Although, saying that it hasn’t made a difference for 2 weeks, so I am reducing my calories from the standard 1400 down to 1300 to see what happens next! The sun is lovely today here too ☀️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I’d planned on making a ruby wedding cake as a surprise for a friend of Dh (and myself) I knew they were going away next week after we come back and Dh thought the actual anniversary was whilst they were away. So I had plenty of time to do the cake when we came back. Anyway on Saturday afternoon at about 3 pm we were sitting having a cuppa and Dh pipes up ‘oh I know what date the actual anniversary is’ it’s a couple of days time 😳 if I left the cake until we came back it’d be well over 2 weeks and we’d have missed the boat 😵💫 So action stations were taken and fruit cake was made Saturday…..force fed copious amounts of alcohol on Sunday. Marzipanned Monday morning. I mixed all the icings before I went to sit in with friends relative whilst they went to the hospital. Monday evening when I arrived home I started to ice the basket work on the cake - let it dry overnight and assembled it all yesterday. In between I made red roses to go in the basket. Phew…..I got it finished in time for the icing to set overnight so he could take it into work today. I will post a photo but I’ll wait until we come back.
As a consequence I’ve done no tidying or sorting the van. I’ve got a busy day today then……and I’ve woken up with the sore throat from hell.
Were supposed to be going in Millie tomorrow at 8 am…..think it’ll be a tad later. We’re back on Tuesday and ds is staying nearby at the weekend so I’m looking forward to it.
I went to sw this morning and have lost the 1 1/2 lb I’ve put on over the last couple of weeks….it would have probably been more had I not eaten my body weight in icing sugar.I’m trying to take the gel polish off my nails myself as I needed to chop my nails to make the roses. Hopefully I’ll not mess my nails like I did last time. I just didn’t have chance to go where I had it put on.
Right I’ll probably be back some time next week. Bye for now.January spends - £587.581 -

I remove gel polish at home by roughing off the surface with a nail file then soak some cotton wool in acetone nail varnish remover, stick a bit on each nail then wrap with bits of tin foil. Don’t peel it off or you’ll damage your nails.Have a brilliant time.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

And just like that we arrived home yesterday.
I managed to get the gel off my nails ok. I filed the surface and used a nail polish remover with foil as directed by the instructions and Sun Addict 👍. I was quite pleased that I managed it without picking it as I messed them up big time last time I did it.I was ready to go on Thursday morning but felt absolutely rubbish with a sore throat. I dosed myself up and the sore throat turned into an awful cough. I actually stayed in the van all day Friday and sent Dh out with his bus pass for the day….he had a whale of a time. Saturday afternoon we went out for a ride along the coast and got out for a short walk to a cafe for a cuppa. It had turned into a streaming cold by this time. I felt very sorry for myself 😵💫 Ds came on Sunday and we met by the seaside….I’d have told him to stay away but he’d booked a hotel room.I managed a walk frequented by several coffee shop and cafe breaks. I was back in bed by 8 pm. Pretty much a repeat of Sunday on Monday, but I did feel a bit better, then we came home yesterday. We did call at a NT place half way home for dinner which was lovely . So it was a bit of a washout. My chest was like a rattle snake. I’ve not had a cold for years but it was a humdinger.
I’d intended phoning the doctors this morning at 8.30 but nodded back off to sleep. I decided I didn’t fancy trying to convince the surgery I needed an appointment…..why do I always feel guilty trying to get in the doctors. I went to the chemist to see what the new service where they can prescribe something is any good. The chemist was lovely - asked me lots of questions and said he couldn’t prescribe anything I hadn’t already tried and my chest sounded as if it needed looking at. He told me to go next door to the surgery and tell them he’d sent me and I should be seen that morning 😳 I wasn’t convinced but the receptionist asked if the doc couldn’t see me could I get to a respiratory clinic a couple of miles away. Anyway she filled the computer paperwork in and within half an hour I saw the GP at my practice and have now got antibiotics…..can’t say they’ve done much yet. I was very impressed with the service. Can’t knock it at all. I wonder what would have happened had I phoned at 9.30….I suspect it might have been after Easter 🤷🏻♀️
The recipients of the cake were thrilled. It was a bit rushed and I can see faults but I was pleased with the overall effect. There was a label with names on on top of the basket too.January spends - £587.585
