Milann’s mutterings through retirement

We have put the family off until tomorrow….they’re staying at ds house tonight. I’m still coughing although loads better and Dh has felt better too but is still coughing a lot. He says he’ll be fine tomorrow so I’ll do a roast dinner tomorrow for everyone- we all muck in so it’s no problem to do. Not sure what to do for pudding as I’d intended to get some sticky toffee pudding from Ald! ( they’re gorgeous and much cheaper than the famous one) and I forgot. I’ll stick some sort of sponge pudding in with a bit of custard.I nipped to Morris@ns for some cheese as I was running low. I decided to stock up on some beers, wine and other bits I ‘needed’ - but could easily have managed without, everything except the cheese - anyway £72 later. I shouldn’t need any food shopping for a good while now unless everyone eats me out of house and home. I tend to forget how much food growing children can get through 😳😁I still need to put the put beds up later - not sure where today has gone - all I’ve done is put some washing away and nip to the shop around the corner. I was up at 8 am too which is unusual for me.
Have a lovely Easter everyone 🐣🐣🐣January spends - £587.582 -

Dd and family have been and we had a lovely Easter. Very laid back with no big missions which is often the case. They left for home before 8 this morning.
I nearly backed out of going to SW at 9 am as I missed last week when I was poorly and I haven’t really bothered….just ate whatever I fancied as I’d felt cr@rp and of course then there was Easter chocolate everywhere. I was quite surprised I’d only put 1 lb on, so I was pleased I went. I’ve just cleared the kitchen of leftover bits out so I’m not tempted. I’m determined I’m going to do it this time and not throw my money away.Operation get the house back to normal has begun and I’m just waiting for the kitchen floor to dry so I can put the chairs and table back in it rightful place after being pulled out for us all to sit around….those pesky crumbs get everywhere and it won’t be pulled out again for a good while so I don’t want to leave anything there unnoticed. I think I’ll leave folding all the beds up until tomorrow- just concentrate on downstairs today.
I treated the gks yesterday when we went into town but not much has left my purse since my pre Easter food shop….and we’ve still got a fair bit of that left.January spends - £587.584 -

I sorted downstairs yesterday and really need to make a start upstairs now but I’ve been putting it off all morning. I’m still coughing and could happily nod off to sleep even though I had a ok night. I have been waking up very wheezy every night…but then going back to sleep again..wish this virus or whatever it is would be on its merry way cos I’ve had enough of it, I finished the antibiotics on Tuesday and am loads better but it’s lingering longer than I want. Dh has gone to work as he is covering holidays but he looks shattered. I’m hoping he’ll finish soon as he has been talking about it but I suspect he will change his mind again and carry on.I need to look at ISA accounts tomorrow when the new tax year begins. I want one at my own bank for ease as I like to access via the branch. I know I’d probably get a better deal on line but I don’t want the hassle.January spends - £587.581

I folded the double bed settee as it’s quite easy just a matter of pushing it in and it’s on wheels but I have left the smaller z beds for Dh to fold. I tried but couldn’t lift then. All the bedding is washed and dried ready for next time. That has been my lot though. I had a tiny doze whilst watching tv. My throat is revving up again…..think I need some more antibiotics as it was clearing quite nicely but stopped when I finished the course.I should be going singing tomorrow but that won’t be happening with a sore throat and tickling cough. So I plan another lazy day of knitting and tv. I wanted to sit with fiend’s relative who has dementia whilst they go out again but I’m not going anywhere near until I’m better. The last thing they want is this.January spends - £587.583
