Milann’s mutterings through retirement

What a lovely early Mother’s Day treat 😊 The only time I’ve had my nails done was for DD1s wedding and I loved them but I also picked them off and ruined my nails😀 they did recover eventually. I don’t get them done becasue we aren’t allowed nail varnish at work so it would be a waste. I should have treated myself when I had my month off 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1200

I went to a NT place yesterday famous for its daffodils, unfortunately we were a tad early. Some were in flower but most weren’t…..another few days or next weekend would have been better. We still had a lovely day as from there we went to the seaside and had a walk along the pier where we bumped into someone I used to work with so we had a good natter.
We ate out courtesy of Dh but didn’t get around to using the Mr T vouchers….we’d have had to move onto the next town and it would have been a good walk from the car , but I’d walked as far as I could by this stage. So we found a little cafe where we were and headed home afterwards.
I visited my friend this morning to see how things are going. I’m totally gutted but we had a good laugh….black humour at its best 🙊😂
Another friend phoned me to tell me the nursery I used to work was on songs of praise. I did know it was on but thought it was later in the day. It was lovely seeing it and I’m meeting the lady who was on the most and played he guitar later this week. I’ll have to ask for her autograph 😂😂January spends - £587.583 -
I can't get warm today. The weather is utterly miserable today. Complete contrast to the lovely spring weather we were treated too yesterday.

It was grey and misty where we went yesterday RS….the sun tried its best, managing to peep out just before it went dark 🙄 In fact we took a photo and compared it to one taken several year ago in the same spot. There was a spectacular mountain range several years ago and just greyness yesterday….someone stole the mountains 😳January spends - £587.581

Not a lot happened today. I went to aqua and nipped to Morrisons spent £30 then came home and tidied up. That’s about as exciting as it got. I want to pay it off my cc but I don’t actually need to until the end of the month - neither do I want the cash to go out of my bank 🤔 so I think I’ll hang onto it as long as possible. It will be paid before I have to pay interest on it. I’m in a wreckless mindset atm though where I could easily just spend, spend, spend…….I think it’s after the news of my friend being poorly. I need to get a grip 🙄 I’m so pleased I don’t like doing internet shopping or I could be in trouble. I have to go to town one day this week as I’m nearly out of batteries for my hearing aids. I’ll leave my car at home and walk and bus it so I can’t carry much 👍January spends - £587.581

I walked into town. I haven’t been for ages as there are building works everywhere and so many shops have shut. Things are progressing but they need to get a wriggle on if the bus station is to open next week as planned. I bought a roll of sticky tape and a birthday card so didn’t have much to carry. I did have to stop a couple of times for a rest so that was a couple of cuppas and a kitkat. Less than £10 spent so I’m happy with that as it was out of my incidental cash that I add up at the end of the month. I also had my hearing aids sorted and got new batteries but that’s on the NHS so thankfully didn’t cost me anything. I don’t believe we’re nearly half way through March already. I need to do some totals of my spending.
Tonight I’m going to my old boss’ house - she has asked some of the old gang but I’m not sure who. Hopefully I’ll manage to stay awake past 9 o clock. I’m not used to evening socialising 😂😂😂😂January spends - £587.584 -
I had a lovely time last night - there were 6 of us. We had a good laugh about old times. I was home by 9.30 so it wasn’t too bad. And I was tucked up in bed at 9.35.I cancelled my aqua today and tomorrow as I did too much yesterday and can barely put my foot on the floor today. I hobbled not SW this morning and had put 1 lb on…..I’m so mad with myself as I snacked on all sorts of rubbish last week…..I know why and me eating for England won’t do anything to help the situation….so I’ve given myself a good talking to 👍 I’m definitely an emotional eater. There were only 4 of us there at the 7.30 am group. I won the raffle….a pamper pack so I was happy with that - £1 well spent 😄…..face mask, a mug, a box of peppermint tea, a spray perfume, and hand cream.I had a phone call from the hospital asking if I could go to an appointment tomorrow morning at 8 am 😱 I said I would . It’s to get some sort of brace for my ankle. It’s driving me mad so I’m hoping it’ll work…and doesn’t look too hideous 🙄
Other than paying for my raffle ticket at SW I haven’t spent any cash 😄January spends - £587.581 -
That’s my kind of night out milann, home by 9pm 🥰
I hope the brace works. You do need some kind of useful solution. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Knowing orthotics you may have a wait for the brace. ( from recent experience)When I was wee they took so long to make that by the time I got them they were too small. 😿😿I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
