Oh @Watty1 if you are getting a HWB do look at the JL animal print velour covered ones. I have one I have had for at least 8 years. Bought a second and still in its bag. Once my feet are warm it goes in the small of my back or in the curve of my tummy, or pushed away. It is a wonderful it of kit!
Not being a smart-!!!!!! but smiling at Wattydog might help both of you. Dog here smiles back and everything. So uplifting, not to say funny little thingSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I recommend a plastic rather than a rubber hot water bottle, and always make sure you squeeze any air out before tightening the stopper. Ours came from Boots, but that was, I'm fairly sure, well over 30 years ago! I've never bought one, just got the ones my Dad bought for me when I lived at home. The stopper is tied to the bottle with kite string! The rubber ones we had as a child perished fairly regulary, resulting in a wet bed, but since finding the plastic ones, we've rarely had a problem. The only issue I have is that I need a new washer for one of the bottles as it has stretched a bit. It's usable with a lot of care, so I fill that one.

that kind of thoughtfulness is rare to find
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

The VNM is a rare one indeed. I'm very lucky and in the midst of the down darkness I perhaps do not appreciate it as much as I should. He fed them again this morning before leaving so I was able to mediate before getting up. I appreciate both the feeding of my horses and the chance to meditate in the silence of the morning without feeling I need to get up. I am blessed. Keeping an ongoing list of gratitudes and small steps taken to move forwards is helping my mood I think.

This morning the money arrived for a saddle I have sold on marketplace. Got £120 less than I paid for it so I'm happy with that. I bought it to bring Most Handsome back into work then went back to riding him in his usual saddle as I didn't really like the new to us one. Just need to find a box to pack it up in now.
Most Handsome is no better, in fact i think he has slipped back as there was heat in the feet again. My vet wants to know what my farrier thinks and finally got my lovely but unreliable farrier to say he would be here tomorrow afternoon. After talking with farrier I will talk again with the vet. I'm also thinking it might be time to try an 'alternative vet' - many years ago I used homeopathy with a horse when conventional vet was not getting anywhere and I think now might be the time to look into that. First farrier, then vet then I will decide.
Pleased with the saddle sale. The decluttering totally slipped in February but this is a large item gone from the kitchen and the stand can go to the yard for use there so two large items gone.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

The saddle is packed and waiting for collection.
To add to the decluttering the VNM has removed the two empty but damaged plastic waste bins from the yard. One was in the hay barn and had been stepped on by a horse making it useless for much, the other I had used as a hay soaker (fill with hay and water, then drain) for a while but it had begun to smell and no amount of cleaning would shift the smell. I will need to replace one of them I but nice to have the rubbish gone. (The VNM can access large bins at work so he will put them there and off they go for recycling).
Had blood taken yesterday prior to doctors appointment so another positive.
Board meeting last night for the charity I volunteer for so will put in expenses for my time for that plus I have been asked to do an assessment for the professional body so that will be an extra £125 this month.
Mood still really down, but, I'm working hard on focusing on the good parts, gratitude and the small wins each day at work. I also took the smiling part on board and realised there are a number of people i do see each day including couriers and the postman so I do smile and sometimes ask how their day is going. I'm also playing with feral kitten for a little bit each day as she often hangs out in my office so some scrunched up paper, my laser pointer, a ribbon and a pen all make excellent cat toys. Nothing huge but tiny wins in the day.

She is a complete joy. Very friendly with me and cat lovers but very shy and nervous (which is probably why she spat and hissed so much at the rescue). She loves her treats and hangs around my office most of the day. WattyDog is not allowed in the office as he barks when the phone rings. I presume he does this in case I have not noticed the phone - it is funny - but he doesn't stop when I answer so the din is too unprofessional for work.

Farrier came out and looked at Most Handsome and there was much head scratching. He can see Most Handsome is not comfortable but Most Handsome does not, in farrier opinion, have signs of classic laminitis and also things I should have much more of an improvement by now.
So reduced pain relief today and will reduce further after the weekend on farrier advice.
All a bit puzzling but then Most Handsome has a history of racking up vet bills for "unknown issues" Will call vet again but farrier admitted that in his phone call with her she was relying heavily on his input so warned me that vet might be a little baffled.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

How wonderfully lucky your animals are being looked after by you !Spring is coming so that should help with the SAD I think we all can suffer fromLa Plans Friday advice is dance in your kitchen to tunes you love once a day - without or without the cat or another human - dogs seem to just bark when I dance so ..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
