Delurking to say well done Watty - been reminded of my own problematic ex this week and I think you are doing so well and that this will be a brilliant way to regain the ownership metaphorically that you already have legally.4

That emotional response when you realised that the house would become yours is important. Really glad that you can make it a reality and if the builder can start soon, your house will wake up to you just as the world wakes up to the spring again 😊❤️

@KajiKita Most Handsome totally recovered Saturday Sunday Monday - all good. Yesterday morning I turned all 3 horses out together in the rain and watched them messing about in the mud and arguing about who could have what pile of hay. There were 4 piles for 3 horses so in theory all should have been calm but Most Handsome wanted every pile that someone else started to eat.
I said as I walked away "for gods sake be careful or you will hurt yourself" Never a truer word spoken! Charming Cob has I believe mites living in his feathers (the fluffy hair at the end of his legs) and so a vet was due to give him a jab to kill them off. There are lots of cheap suggestions on the internet but clearly the itching is bothering him so I have gone nuclear to remove rather than see him struggle while I faff about.
As I called him in for the vet Most Handsome hobbled up the field so I asked the vet to take a look and he has damaged something in his leg around the fetlock (sort of ankle joint). Best case scenario he has pulled a muscle or twisted it, worse case he has damaged a ligament or tendon. More pain killers, more rest in stable, more vets bills and "see what he is like on Friday to decide what to do next"
Charming Cob perfect for the vet of course. Fell Pony had his second injection. Vet and the practice member she had with her said that Most Handsome was a lovely patient and so good with vet. I rather drily said it was all the practice he had.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

The builder starts Saturday ripping out the bathroom that is to be redone, last night we emailed sorting out bathroom shower enclosure, sink, loo, general design ideas (his were really good) and shower panels.
I was so overwhelmed that I asked the VNM to sit with me and help. He kept saying how it was my house and I could do anything I wanted but I was really struggling with changing what existed and having him point out that my first choice was very like what was already there was helpful as I could see how much I was struggling.
I realise how much of myself I have lost along the way and working on the this was almost too much for me. Anyway with their help I settled on a shower enclosure that was more than he had included and also changed the brand of shower so the price has gone up a little bit but after chatting with VNM it is ok to do that.
I am surprised how overwhelming I found it. I ended up gong to bed and was asleep by 8.45 with the emotional stress. Obviously it is another step in letting go of the past and for me a very big one.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Decision making is a muscle like anything else. It will get easier. And you will discover who you are now. You might go back to a previous version of you and have your house like your teenage self would pick, you might surprise yourself at what things you like nowadays. Doesn't matter. You might realise that you do actually like a lot of whats in the house already, you just want it to be redone to be fully yours. Thats fine too. Its great to have workies in, disturbing the energy, flushing out the old, bringing in the spring. Brilliant. As each room is done, go around it, touch things, sit and look, reclaim that space. Its yours. Well done watty xxxxxxxx xxxxxx22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈⭐ Never save something for a special occasion. Every day is a special occasion. I find this really hard to do which is why I think I still haven't done anything in my house. I seem to struggle with decisions in general though, like I need approval for everything first.
