Yes @badmemory that could indeed be a problem indeed.
I don't run the underfloor heating as it is so expensive and uses so much LPG I have a rug in the sitting area which makes it look a little cosier but don't worry about the cold tiles as I am in and out in my boots so muchMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

The bathroom is cleared ready for the builder. I've thanked the room for being great and had a last shower in the wonderful power shower the ex installed and then said goodbye to everything that will go and told the house work will begin on making it mine emotionally.
I had a panic this morning about the work starting but calmed myself down by reminding myself this is not my forever home, this is about making it mine for the next couple of years while I sort out if it is possible to covert the barn. (and the bathroom floor was very wet as the shower leaked again so work really does need to happen).
The feral kitten (cat) has been shut in my office so she is safe from the workmen much to her fury. I know when they arrive she will be pleased she can be safe behind the files as she is very nervous of people in the house. She is wailing at the office door and threatening much harm to my ankles when i go in and out bless her.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

You won't regret having shower boards. Just make sure he is using an up-and-over tray (it has a lip round it that the boards sit inside, silicon sealed to the tray) to ensure no moisture gets behind the boards.

If not one of those upstand trays, there's a (very expensive) tape that is stuck to the back of the tray which goes behind the tile or board that creates a seal. We had a very unusual size of shower tray due to limited space in the ensuite, I looked at loads, don't recall ever coming across an upstand tray.

@Slinky really helpful thank you as the limited space means I've had very limited choice on the shower tray so i was worrying about that.
The bathroom fittings are gone and a lot of mould revealed where the shower had been leaking. I will clean that up today as the plan is to retain the original floor tiles. Some wall tiles have been removed but he had a stress moment when he saw the state of the wall underneath and he was worried the whole room would need re-plastering. He suggested we fit the panels on top of the tiles which I was not keen on but having looked at the wall I can see the issue.
The water could not be turned off as once again the unusual stop !!!!!! arrangements thwarted that so he did the best he could whilst I called the water board to discuss the leak at the meter/stop !!!!!!. To the board's credit they sent a man same day but on making him a coffee and chatting it seemed that the incessant rain has reduced their work load substantially because leaks cannot be seen or reported. Luckily there was no leak but the chamber to the stop !!!!!! had just filled up with rain water which he pumped out. It seems I should get a pump myself in case I ever need to turn the water off as he says this will happen often. Yesterday evening before a trip to the opera the VNM had a look and managed to fix the drip himself so that was great.
Evening spent at the Opera with friends. Stravinsky's The Rakes Progress by the English Touring Opera. Why on earth they picked this opera eludes me, the theatre was possibly only half full at best and on a Saturday night and the staging seemed the director had just ransacked the dressing up box. I love opera but that performance would do little to covert anyone to the art. The singing fabulous but I was left thinking I should have read the plot more before going. Still the company good and lovely to see friends. Drank wine at the pre theatre meal thinking it would be early enough not to interfere with sleep. How wrong I was as was away at 1.00 am worrying about work stuff for a couple of hours so will do some work this morning.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

This is the stuff we had. Not this supplier, I think we paid about £40 a roll but that was a couple of years ago.We had a Kudos shower tray in the ensuite which was 80cm on the opening side, and 90cm deep, on the off chance that's the size you are looking for. You don't need to have the same brand of shower tray as enclosure, they are pretty universal providing the measurements tally. We used Nuance boards in our downstairs shower room and have been very happy with them.
