I'm trying to restore the grazing land after years of no real attention. So I checked the nutrient levels and the first, really obvious one was that the pH was very acidic. Adding lime will change this and then the grass can start to use the nutrients in the ground. Sadly the soil test I did showed there were very few nutrients so after the lime is added I will start adding those.
I may not be staying here but the land really does need attention, the horses need to eat and we will most likely be here for at least another year. Two fields are over run by buttercups so I'm hoping changing the pH will also start to eliminate those (although I may need to spray).
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1
