@thepurplepixie Sorry to hear your news. Did the clinic talk to you about bone strengthening exercise? This is something than can help and my ex mother in law found it really helped her.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Right it is my birthday today and I am miserable. It is time to get intentionally fab in all parts of my life even on my budget. The first thing I thought of was that food and mood are very connected so I am going to start making sure I eat a good breakfast. I had a protein smoothie today and it was horrible so making that a positive that lovely container of protein powder was at the back of the cupboard for a reason. The contents are not nice so it needs to go out. I've bought another one as I like the idea of a protein filled smoothie in the mornings but it needs to be something I enjoy not suffer through. The new brand should be here tomorrow.
I've been dithering about getting my hair cut for some time too so I will make an appointment and get that done too.

@Watty1 No she didn't talk about exercise, very much focused on being positive and diet. I will look into that.
@helensbiggestfan I had my original scan 5 years ago, I asked GP for a referral, he asked why and I said I'd had a previous fracture and at 65 I felt it was worth it. He said he'd refer me but wasn't sure they'd accept the referral. A few days later I got a phone call to ask if I could get to the local hospital quickly as they'd had two people phone up at the last minute to cancel an appointment and I was very local. I said I'd be there in 15 minutes. Was very pleased. The results were OK then, they scan at different points and I was a bit low at one point but OK everywhere else. The nurse said the good thing is I haven't fallen off a cliff just a fairly normal decline due to age but I was a bit low 5 years ago and I've just gone into osteoporosis, the diagnosis starts at -2.5 and my reading was -2.5. I think if you are over 65 with a family member with OP they will do it on the NHS but that may vary by area, worth asking perhaps?
The hospital has just had a new machine, really it only took seconds to do it. I bet the machine costs a small fortune.5 -

Happy Birthday Watty. 🎂🍾💐. Hope you've had a lovely day. Sorry you felt miserable though.I know the feeling. Despite having a good time with my family at the weekend I too felt rather miserable. I put on an Oscar winning performance and no one guessed how awful I was feeling behind the smiles.I felt fat, bloated, ugly and just about every bone and muscle in my body were screaming in pain. My tummy didn't feel right and I just felt miserable. I put a brave face on things but in the end I was just glad to get home. That was my turning point. I never want to feel that way ever again. Of course I did my best, I wore make up and the best outfit I could find that actually fitted me and of course plastered a smile on my face but inside I just wanted to curl up into the foetal position and pull a duvet over my head. I chatted, laughed and joked and played with the children but it took every last ounce of my energy. On Monday I just felt drained. I've been dreadfully tired since then and it has affected my sleep patterns, too tired to sleep. That happens to me when I get overtired.I'm still not sleeping terribly well so today I have taken things very gently. And, despite yesterdays massage, I'm still very stiff and in pain. I have decided not to be silly and push myself too hard, too soon. I just going to concentrate on sorting out my sleep and healthy eating for now. Having not exercised in over a week I did manage a few pilates stretches .....it's a start. Small steps each day.I have been watching you tube videos about weight loss and healthy eating and they all say to have some protein with every meal. Apparently it makes you feel more satiated and helps with food cravings, especially with the sweet stuff. There was a diabetes specialist who said always to have a savoury breakfast to avoid insulin spikes so I have been trying that the last couple of days. It does make sense not to have sweet sugary foods on an empty stomach because they will hit the blood stream more quickly.Watty, don't give up. We can do this, we just need to stay the course. 💕6

Sorry you felt like that @helensbiggestfan but I do so understand. I spent my birthday putting the bravest face on everything. Today I have a headache and I'm sipping the most disgusting protein smoothie for breakfast and it is the last time I will have this particular mix ever!
I've a headache this morning which surprises me as I only had two small glasses of wine last night.
Part of the problem is I have decorators in but being on a budget it is one decorator who is doing 3 rooms at the same time which includes the new bathroom that has just gone in and is still not usable, the main bathroom and my bedroom so I feel rather as if I am camping in the house. Plus with all the windows open upstairs I see no point in heating so it is cold too. I'm working today in my office all day and that is at least warm.
I'm looking at it as if the house and I will become fabulous together. (It is a bit of state as my ex lived in it and didn't do anything for years and I bought it off him last year after an exhausting and abusive legal battle).
Today my part of becoming fab is to clear my desk of work.
