Oh thanks for the info Watty. I have been on the HRT patches for almost 3 months and wondered whether to go private too. My weight has been going up and down day to day.
I am not feeling very fab at the moment. I am still feeling slightly under the weather after having costochondritis and being on 8 antibiotics a day last week. I still have a little cough. I think the GP thought it was Covid as he was all masked up when he saw me face to face.
I am out tomorrow in London to go to a vegan restaurant and then see a film. I hope I don't catch another cold/Covid while I'm there this time. It seems to happen now every time I go back into central London! Sigh.4 -
@Wednesday2000, strange you say that, my nephew caught covid after a trip to London. Back in 2013, I caught bacterial pneumonia after weekend dow their & I'm convinced it was from being on the tube.Making the debt go down and savings go up

Hope the new med works for you Watty. The menopause is really horrible for some people.
I'm almost frightened to say it but I am feeling so much better. I think dropping the physio exercises/taking the ibuprofen to get on top of it has all helped. Saw my Chiropractor on Monday and suddenly I was painfree for over 24 hours and only a mild ache since then. I've had this before and then every treatment left me painfree for longer and longer periods until it was just gone. I can't have another treatment till after Easter so I'm hoping it doesn't slip too far back with nearly 3 weeks between treatments. On the otherhand weekly treatments really do add up so I suppose financially it is a bit of breathing space.
I haven't struggled too much with giving up chocolate for Lent which for a chocaholic is saying something but I am starting to count the days until I can indulge my love of chocolate. If I'm painfree and eating chocolate that is going to be amazing.5 -
So glad you are pain free at least for a while @thepurplepixie
@Wednesday2000 it was desperation that made me go private and what I like about the clinic is that it is not a "once size fits all" but the prescription is made into a cream that I then apply daily. It isn't cheap but it has meant it can be adjusted. I sometimes think about trying the GP to save money but this year I really want to be fab not the mess i have been in for years - so - that really decides it for me. I'll stick with the private for this year and get myself really well and feeling fab.
For the first time since January I woke up with some hope. It might be a coincidence but I dropped one of HRT treatments yesterday as the doctor felt I no longer needed it and that it might have been causing some of my issues.
We also talked about "insulin resistance" and reading on line to discover more I fear I may need to give up sugar!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
It does seem like every time I go into London I get ill. My husband works on London Underground, but he has been off sick since September. We are going to Stratford today and Westfield is always extremely busy. I do have some of that Vick's First Defence so I might take some before I leave and hope that it works!
I might go private as well Watty. I might see what I'm like on HRT for another 3 months and then decide.
It is another mild and dry day here. I might buy a nice bunch of Spring flowers on the way home.2025 GOALS

Hello, well done everyone. You all seem to be coping admirably with many physical and hormonal challenges.
I had a message from the forum to say my post about pain relief had been removed. Sorry if I breached any guidelines, I didn’t mean to.Had a lovely time with my GC, the loveliest sound has to be “Granny, granny..…..” brings me such joy. First solo stay, just the two of us. Now dealing with the toddler lurgy that’s the price we pay for loving our little ones. The last twice I escaped, but not this time. Ah well. I’d do it all again without hesitation.Have a great weekend.3 -
@artistlifestyle, oh no, not the toddler lurgy. They don't get any better as they grow up either. On Boxing Day, my DD brought the 4 DGSs round and the eldest one (14), went home with his dad as he felt sick and then the 7year old was coughing everywhere and when DH & I caught it, it turned out to be covid. The amount of viruses I have caught from the 4 of them is a long and endless list....lolMaking the debt go down and savings go up
