@artistlifestyle I don’t know why your post has been removed. I personally found your advice very helpful and it’s definitely something that I will try i.e. the alternative pain relief. I know that most people on here are lay people and not professionally trained medical experts, but it is very useful to get some different perspectives and ideas to try.

I have found a cost effective way of staying fab with my short hair.
I have bought my colour of choice and use a medicine cup i.e with marks that don't rub/wash off and measure out equal portions of the mixtures supplied and I get the same colour. This means I can get 4 top ups. Same rule can be applied when doing just roots on long hair too

Good Morning Lovely Ladies
A grey miserable morning here, again. Will spring ever come.....Hey ho, just sitting here with a face mask on whilst I type. Multi tasking. Lol.Not much news I'm afraid. Feeling a bit meh if I'm honest, my mojo has gone awol again and not managing to lose any weight, oh well just need to persevere.Further delays with the lab work for my implants. I suppose Easter doesn't help, final fitting now rescheduled for 5th April. 🤞. Just hope it goes to plan this time.Feeling very stiff and full of my usual aches and pains, can't tell a lie exercise is the last thing on my mind, I must kick myself up the derrière and force myself. Did do quite a bit of gardening last week, better than nothing I suppose. Anyway, have booked chiro and massages for the next couple of weeks, see if I can loosen up a bit.Other than that just plodding .....reminding myself about the tortoise and the hare.I too am a bit at a loss as to why Artisteslifestyle post was removed by the powers that be......
have a good week y'all. Keeeeep fabbing. 💕4 -
@helensbiggestfan How frustrating about your implants, but you’re nearly there! I went last week and I’m ready to go with my impressions, then temporary and finally the permanent implant crowns. I can’t wait to have teeth again on my upper right side. It’s been a long process, but I knew that as I’ve had them before. How are you doing with the weight loss? I’m not doing very well I’m afraid. I know I will feel better if I can just fit into my normal clothes - just need to try harder!

Implants sound challenging. I'd like to get my teeth whitened but they do tend to be sensitive so I worry that I'd end up in pain, not sure what to do. My good news is my pain is much reduced, my last chiro session did wonders. I'm not there yet but I am well on the way and I now feel hopeful that it will be 100% in the end. I've found the best physio for me is walking, if it gets a bit stiff and sore and nice walk for an hour or so sorts it out. I'm back with chiro on 5th April and if this improvement continues I think he will be surprised at how much it has changed.
My neighbour has cancer and I saw an ambulance arrive about an hour ago and it is still there. I'm not sure what that means, I've never called an ambulance out but I was thinking it must be serious for them to be there for so long but then I thought if it was that serious wouldn't they have taken her off to hospital? If something happens I'm not sure how her husband will cope as they are always together, share their hobbies, shop together, they are a second marriage and they've never had much to do with the children from the first marriages. He will be really lost. I'm not spying on them, took my car for MOT first thing and I'm sitting at dining table having breakfast and listening to the news if I look out of the window I am looking straight at the ambulance.
I should finish my coffee, get moving and do some housework, things have got a bit grubby while I have been in so much pain since December and I've started a spring clean, last week I was taking curtains down and washing them and getting them back up, yesterday I did bathrooms (house, ensuite and downstairs loo) all scrubbed to operating theatre standard, so think I'm going to hit the kitchen today and clean and sort cupboards and have a good sort out.
Hope everyone has a good day.4 -
@thepurplepixie Good news that your pain is much reduced. I agree, walking is one of the best things you can do is to walk more. I hardly walk nowadays (used to) but have become very lazy since I retired. I just need to make the effort.
I would also love teeth whitening, but unfortunately it doesn’t work with crowns or implants, only on natural teeth. You can have veneers of course, but why would you grind down a perfectly good tooth just for cosmetic reasons. I watched a TV programme, where two women went to Turkey for veneers (as it was cheaper) and it followed their progress. Yes, they DID have perfect white teeth (costing a fortune) but it showed the process before they got the temporary veneers, prior to the permanent ones and they looked like something out of a horror film! Scary. Of course, with crowns, the tooth is ground down too, but that’s usually for corrective dentistry where the tooth is heavily filled. These women had perfectly good teeth, just not as white as they wished for! Crazy. My teeth look Ok now (not film star teeth) but functional. I had to wear a denture before my first round of implants took time to knit with the bone as they were my three front teeth and I hated it. At least I can eat better now and that’s all that matters to me. I know they were expensive and I was fortunate to be able to have them, but it was worth it to me.
I think it’s good to look out for neighbours and nobody would think that you were spying. As the bungalows are quite small where we live, a lot of our neighbours are quite elderly (80 + nearly 90) and on their own so I always look out for them. We have keys to three neighbours (have never used them) but it’s nice to think we could if we had to.
You’re on a roll with your cleaning (I wish I was). Do you use a steam cleaner? I have one but I often can’t be bothered to get it out of the cupboard! Now that Spring is nearly upon us, I thing I’ll dig it out and have a good go (they are great for refreshing your mattress). Would also like to clean my curtains but my lounge curtains were custom-made and expensive (not a standard window). They are lined too and need to be dry cleaned. They are due a clean but I thought I might try steam cleaning them to see if that made a difference. Anyone on here tried it on curtains? Or a leather suite?3 -
Good Morning Lovely Ladies.A beautiful day here. Have just been to the bakery. £2.50 for a loaf of bread!!! I am going to have to start making my own. Lol. Good job I don't eat bread very often but I bought some smashed avocado and decided on avocado on toast for lunch.Whilst out I popped into the local chazzer. Todays bargains .....a really nice Wallis black crepe blouse trimmed with matching black "pearl" beads at the collar and cuffs £3, a black leather handbag £3, and 5 DVDs for £. How can a lovely blouse or a nice leather bag cost just 50p more than a loaf of bread.??? 🤷♀️. Doesn't seem right. No wonder some people are having to resort to food banks. I really do count myself as blessed and fortunate.Yes indeed implants are challenging but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end. Bit disappointed I can't have them finished for Easter but can't be helped.Re how am I doing with weight loss......it's a disaster dahhhlings, 😂. Hey ho, nil desperandum and all that. Just need to keep at it.I am bloody minded and don't give up easily.....I'll get there. Just one more challenge to overcome......4

@FreetodoasIlike steaming the curtains sounds like a good idea, I'm sure it would freshen them up. I'd try to do an inconspicuous bit just in case. I do have a steamer but I like giving things a good scrub, don't know what I'll do if I get to the stage where I can't get down on my knees to scrub the floor. Funny what satisfies us sometimes.
I think I've been lucky with my teeth, I have all of them but they aren't as white as they used to be. They are a bit sensitive sometimes, not sure why. I did ask the hygienist about whitening last time I saw her and she said she didn't think I needed it. I do have one crown but it is right at the back so I don't think it would matter much.
I think I'm dwelling on appearance, and fitness, as I am going to Buckingham Palace in May and want to look good for photos. It is in the garden and lasts 4 hours so my hip needs to be better! I do need to have a shopping expedition to buy something suitable. I've already booked the train and hotel so the costs are adding up.3 -
@thepurplepixie I'm guessing a garden party? I went a few years ago and it was absolutely wonderful, such a special day. I took a pair of flat shoes (roll up flats) as I was warned there is a lot of standing and walking and if your shoes are not totally comfortable you might want a change. As it was I bought a low heeled pair of shoes that were perfect for the day. Fingers crossed for hip as I loved the walk around the gardens, they were unexpected!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3
