Thanks @artistlifestyle.
I agree about lifestyle choices. That's why I need to give up the chocolate & biscuits. Its all very well me exercising & having a positive outlook, and eating healthy meals, but waste of time if I offset it with too much chocolate. So as of tonight, I am giving it up, apart from the odd square of choc here & there.

Artist. Thank you for calling me an inspiration. That's very flattering. But I'm nothing special. I'm just bloody minded and don't like giving up. Well done on the decluttering, you'll get there. It does no harm to take a break now and then. And I too think it's pretty much an ongoing task.MB2. Since giving up sugar in tea and coffee I now find my taste buds have changed and I find a lot of sweet stuff just too sweet, especially shop bought cakes etc. I just find them sickly. A little bit of chocolate won't do any harm. It's all about moderation and dark chocolate in particular has health benefits.Life without a few of our favourite foods wouldn't be worth living. I can't eat a lot of wheat as you know but my idea of heaven is a croissant or a nice crusty bread roll with lashings of butter. When I do indulge I savour every last crumb.Purple pixie. Hope your hip pain eases soon. If it's a soft tissue injury then all to the good, it should heal with time.Just watched Downton Abbey 2 on Netflix. Had me in bits at the end. 😂🤣3

@FreetodoasIlike I came off painkillers i was addicted to last year. I tried withdrawing by cutting the amount but just ended up back on them so I collected up all I had and threw them in the woodburner.
That way there were gone for good (I knew I would get them out of the bin). They were prescription ones so I couldn't buy over the counter at the strength i was using and I have not bought any of the weaker ones which has taken a bit of courage at times. I felt dreadful for about 5 days, mostly spending that time in bed, only getting up to go out for a birthday afternoon tea and a birthday dinner. I didn't want to do either but I did because i didn't want to tell anyone what a mess I had got into Gradually the ill feeling passed, I had been warned it might take 2 to 3 months and I don't think it did take that long in the end but it was tough going for the first few days.

Hello Lovely Ladies.Well done to those who have managed to wean themselves off painkillers and good luck to those who are going to give it a go. Pain killer addiction is very much a thing and it can be very difficult to break the habit. There's no shame in it, it happens.I had a particularly difficult time getting off Omeprazole which I took for GERD. Unfortunately you cannot quit that by going cold turkey because the acid production would go into overdrive. It has to be done in easy stages. It took about three months but I got there in the end. Never looked back. Speaking of addictions, 57 days caffeine free. Wahoo.Well now my knee feels great. I was told it would take a couple of days for the injection to fully bathe the knee but it's now working like a charm.Just looking at my house, it's a tip. Better get cracking.
This morning I put on some old clothes to do some cleaning. I caught sight of myself in the mirror, promptly got changed and have now put the offending garments into the rag bag. 😂. I'm still wearing comfy housework clothes but at least I look marginally better.Need to do a supermarket sweep later. At least it's not raining. I got drenched yesterday.Have a great weekend. 💕5 -
@artistlifestyle Thank you so much for the information. I have to confess that I had to Google cranial sacral therapy and it looks like this may well be of benefit to me, not just for pain in my head but holistically. I have a lot of tension around my neck and shoulder area which I think the therapy would help with. I was thinking of an Indian head massage, which may be similar, but cranial sacral therapy sounds better. I’ve googled practitioners in my area and the reviews are good, so I will certainly give this a try. I also had to Google progressive muscle relaxation and I feel that that this is something to try as well, particularly in the neck and shoulders area, and this is something I can do on my own at home. Thank you again. Well done on your de-cluttering, you are doing so well.
@Watty1 Your story was very inspiring - thank you. Going cold turkey must have been very hard for you. I think for me it has to be the answer as I know the painkillers are making things worse. I can buy the ones I’m using over the counter or on-line, so it’s just so easy (although expensive!). I would be better off spending the money on massage therapy. My body on the whole is very stiff and I also suffer from sciatica in my lower back but all the sitting around I do isn’t helping. On that note, going to clean the house a bit and get moving!2 -
I have my xray appointment , 10th April. I'm hoping it will be a lot better by then but who knows. At least I feel I am doing something. I'm not taking the paracetamol, I told the doctor I didn't want them but he sent the prescription to Boots anyway. He is adamant they can't make me feel sick but they do so they are no good to me. I am still taking ibuprofen, doctor was happy with that and seemed to think I was a bit odd when I said I know I shouldn't take them long term. I just take one in the morning and one early evening so not lots unless it is a bad day and I then take 2. I am gradually starting to do some of the exercises my Chiropractor gave me, I am more convinced than ever that the physio just made things worse.3

Appointment with hormone doctor as blood test results back.
Summary: thyroid fine, the HRT not working and needs rejigging. Private prescription sent and already ordered. Just doing something about and ticking it off has helped.
Also wore a lovely grey pair of jeans yesterday but they were too tight and it was a relief to get them off so I am going to donate or ebay. There is little point in wearing clothes that are just uncomfortable and I didn't feel fab in them at all and having them in the wardrobe staring at me and reminding me i am no longer that size is not going to help with the feeling fab either. I think it might be time to admit that i have gained over a stone in weight and go through my wardrobe and release some items. Keeping them hoping I will squeeze back into them is not "fab" and for me rather frump.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

HRT seems to be a nightmare for so many people @Watty1. Sometimes I'm glad I was never prescribed it. Hope you get on ok with the new prescription.
I had a hair cut this morning and a dentist check up, where he replaced a broken temp filling. Its been temp for a while, as I don't really fancy having to have a crown. Then I came home and did a 3000 step workout from my online group, so think I am feeling quite fab today.Making the debt go down and savings go up

The surgery have since apologised thankfully but I have remained with the private doctor as I like the way that works for me.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
