Oh I LOVE it @nmm, well done on the finish. Will you make it into a cushion or send it away?

Absolutely zilch, zero, nada crafting going on here. We still haven’t exchanged contracts but it will be soon apparently. I have had to go through my craft stash and be brutal with what to keep/donate. We are downsizing and I will no longer have a spare room whilst DD and DS2 are still living at home.

Any more takers for the Christmas card exchange? Two of us so far lol 😂

Does the Christmas card exchange need to be stitched? Can it be a combination. I lurk here as my crafts are not really sewing but sort of fancy having a try at a stitched Christmas card. I think I will say ‘yes please’ may I be considered for joining the card exchange but may the recipient be understanding if it is not highly crafted :)

    Thank you

Agree with coxy, any craft welcome, its the fact that you send it to someone who really appreciates the work that has gone into it.

Welcome @Auti, I totally agree with all that’s been said. It’s always a pleasure to receive something original, made by someone just for you.
I will DM my new address as I’m definitely in.
I’m plopping along and I’ve taking a break from cats and onto April on HSC ‘a year in the life’. Not been my best reading or crafting year but I have done a lot of labouring, painting, walls and ceilings and holding things.
Hope you get a date soon Coxy. No date here, our other house sits empty and waiting for its new owners. I left a little sampler on the mantelpiece for when they eventually move in. ( We accepted offer on 10th June!).

    Hello everyone,

    Hope you’re all doing okay?

We have exchanged contracts and are moving on Monday 18 November - it all came together quite quickly in the end. We have a first truckload being collected on Friday so that will be all the garden furniture, shed contents, greenhouse stuff, garage stuff and anything else they can fit on the lorry!

We picked up 60 boxes from the removal firm last week and have run out as worked like demons over the weekend, so DH is collecting more today (once he’s been to the tip, taken a gas bottle back to a depot, dropped some furniture at my DSis’, and dropped a letter into the solicitor). DD and DS2 did their rooms, so it’s “just” the kitchen, food cupboards, best china and pictures to sort now.

I’m still working in the office full time as had to give 8 weeks’ notice. Notice period officially ends on 22 Nov, so I’ve negotiated to WFH next week (probably from my DSis’ house as no WiFi connection for us until the Thursday) however I will need to come into the office on Tuesday for a governance meeting. Not as bad as it sounds as I also have my WI meeting in the evening, so killing two birds with one stone.

    And now onto crafting news……

My Mum signed up for 5 craft fayres and we had the first one on 2 November. She knits and crochets and has an abundance of stock. She did really well considering she was cash only due to a glitch with her sum up machine. The next ones are 23 and 24 November and I’ve suggested she has some loss-leaders for a few £s as the cheapest thing on her stall was £12 and there’s always a few children around looking for cheap things to buy plus folk looking for stocking fillers or something to pop into a . I’ve crocheted some hearts and have joined two together and filled with toy stuffing and attached a keychain. I had all the yarn anyway along with the key chains, so not cost me anything. Mum has knitted some small Christmas puddings to pop a Ferrero in too.

Thank you to all who would like to join the Christmas Card Exchange this year, and for PM’ing address confirmation.

The following are signed up: Charly27, nmm, daisy_1571, Auti and me!

If anyone else is lurking (or I've missed anyone out) and would like to join in, please PM me before the end of this week. I will allocate who you are sending to at the weekend and will PM you the details. Have started my card……

Right better get back to work!

    Coxy xx
