Hi Coxy what a bitter sweet time for you with lots of changes afoot. Good luck with the viewings. Hopefully they will be in the position to make an offer and you can be mortgage free if you downsize. We have accepted an offer on our house, less than the asking price, but enough to enable us to move full time into the little old semi we’ve been renovating since October.
It’s exciting but momentous at the same time and we’ve only been in this house 19 years. All our children are older and live independently of us so it’s not the same.
Crochet hearts ♥️ may sell better than cushions! Like the famous supermarket every little helps. Go gently and keep us posted.

  • I have been at home with Covid for the last week, which has meant lots of time to do some sewing at last. I was working on a stamped kit, because I was too woozy to follow a pattern properly so the complicated stuff had to be put to one side. I really enjoyed it actually, and I'm probably about 60% done. The downside to the stamped kits is that it's much harder to see how much progress you've made! So I've taken to photographing the back as well to see how well I'm doing!

    That's so pretty!

I had almost completed Angel of the Mornings skirt, but the last bit just kept going wrong. After the third lot of unpicking I put her aside and started a kit from a magazine. It's coming on quickly and I really like it. Pics to follow

Excuse the state of the fabric! Hoping to get back to her and finish the skirt before moving up to her chest and arms. I had gotten into a brilliant rhythm with it, but this last bit just kept going wrong!

new kit. Autumn fox. No back stitch, and just gorgeous colours! I have the kit for the winter owl and will get the spring hare, but unfortunately I don't like the summer pony design at all. A shame as horses are my favourite!

    Hi everyone,

Well the WI craft stall at the fete raised £175 which was £100 more than last year. I wasn't able to help either year as already had plans. My crocheted hearts all sold, apparently there were several littlies with pocket money to spend. We may well do a Christmas fayre so I'll think of something else little to contribute. Maybe stars.....

The WI have an offshoot crafting group once a month which I've been to a couple of times and taken crochet. They have a sewing project each month and this month it's a fabric spectacles case. I took a copy of the pattern at WI on Tuesday and had a go today - will post a pic below from my phone. I took me a while to cut out and my sewing machine bobbin tension played up a bit, but I got there in the end. I'm so pleased I had a go. No it's not perfect, and I will ask the group for some 'finishing' tips when we next meet, but I'm happy I did it. I will definitely never make a living from being seamstress though!

Love the printed cross stitch pattern @foxandflowers and I do hope you are getting better now. So much Covid about at the moment.

Love the Autumn Fox kit @Drawingaline and bonus that there's no BABS! Where are the kits from please?

We are still having viewing on our house. Two yesterday, both FTB (which is amazing given the price we are up for) and one wants to come back tomorrow with his partner so DH will show them around (it's usually the agent but he's away). We will see what gives!

    Hope everyone is doing okay.

That's lovely Coxy. I quite like sewing, but unfortunately had such a hate relationship with my machine I ended up selling it. I would get rage every time I used it. A shame as a lot of the cross stitch designs I see are often cushions etc and I just can't deal with it! Maybe if I ever get the chance to retire 😂

The fox, owl, Hare and Pony designs are from Crossstitcher magazine. I am so close to finishing the fox, should get it done tomorrow or Tuesday.

So I probably have around an hour left on the Fox, but my arm is so sore from all the stitching I did at the weekend I have left it until tomorrow!
