Octopus saving sessions

I saw the advert for Octopus's Weekend Happy Hours on Facebook and was excited, until I looked into the details. To earn one free hour of electricity at the weekend, customers must opt in, use less electricity than usual in two separate Power Down sessions, wait several days for the results, then book a one-hour slot. British Gas, by comparison, offers half-price electricity every Sunday from 11am to 4pm with no conditions. For most households, the effort seems out of proportion to a reward worth only a pound or two.

Saw that. saying new offer. Yet been going for a while & made no mention of only till Nov to use free hours.

It is there if you scroll down the "Weekend Happy Hours" page, but it's not very prominent.
Weekend happy hours
Between now and 1st November, unlock free electricity at the weekend when you use less electricity in Power Down sessions.

I imagine there will be annoyed customers who didn't read the dates come the end of the month.
It was in the first email as I recall. I might even bag a spare just in case they feel pressurised to add an extra Sunday.

End of the day if you miss out on a hour, not the end of the world.

Just had a random thought about our Free Hours. The FAQ says use by 1st of November so the way I'm interpreting that is it should be used before then so last Sunday before then is 25th October.
Or do you think that 1st November is included?

I'm thinking the 1st Nov is included.
If it were not included, I would have expected it to say by the end of October (31/10/2026) which would have been very clear that it is not included.
I reserve the right to be wrong :-D

I hope you're right! I usually say inclusive when mentioning a date so it's clear then. We all know Octopus have a habit of not explaining things very well sometimes.

Looks like it's actually going to be the first Sunday for a while without any negative pircing for Agile customers so I am actually going to use my Free sessions. Won't be saving a fortune but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.1
