Your account received a one-time 100MB Starter Data Pack but once that is used, you will need to purchase a Data Pack. You may want to print this off as the ombudsman would be very interested if what you're saying is true!

Why would the ombudsman care? Three are at liberty to suspend the free data allowance whenever they like. They would still need to to notify etc which they clearly haven't done as I've not had any updates - at the new 10p per mb - 200mb is circa £20 in value alone.flaneurs_lobster said:

Il check back on here when it is supposed to renew on the 25th november.I had the same Alan, but after about 100MB, my phone prompted me to sign into the 3 network (to login to my account and purchase a Data Pack). I suspect you will experience this on the 25th, if not before.2 -
It's not just the free allowance, the tariff charges have also changed from 3p/min to 35p/min etc.flaneurs_lobster said:

I'd certainly agree that it would have been good customer relations (and just polite) to give Reward SIM users notice of the free data allowance removal and the tariff increases but I don't believe that Three are under any obligation to do so.SourceEncoder said:

The Reward SIM is (was) a pure PAYG service, no contractual obligation as to the level of service or the cost thereof has been entered into by either party.
I haven't bothered to check all the T&Cs (previous experience tells me they are voluminous and tortuous to follow) but I'd be surprised if anything there contradicts my assumptions

Appreciate your input, and you're probably correct that they are not liable. However, their small print cannot protect them from customers leaving the network after having been treated so inconsiderately. It always confuses me why companies spend so much on marketing to attract new customers, yet have no qualms about existing customers leaving. 🤷♂️2

To be fair, this was always intended as a PAYG data SIM. When people found the calls were cheap for very occasional use, they jumped on it never buying data.
It was inevitable that one day it would end.
Similar to when unlimited handset data was available for ten pounds but people started using g it as home broadband using over a thousand Gb per month.0 -
How did you know you got the 100MB? My SIM is showing "There are no allowances & benefits to show". If I go in to "View Usage" it shows data coming off as 'included' and my balance doesn't go down as I use the data but I've no idea how much is left.SourceEncoder said:My experience is that the 200MB monthly allowance is also discontinued. I am surprised they've not already pulled it. Was perfectly happy with my main SIM on three, year back they said could no longer offer inclusive roaming so shifted to ID, couldn't be happier - same coverage, buy less data and the rollover irons out the bumps. MSE had previous tales of three pulling contracts from people. Seems an odd way to keep customers especially when others can still offer the same.0 -
Any customers they might be losing because of this action would be generating next to sod-all revenue. Probably saved considerably more by removing an entire level of tariff support and billing from the infrastructure.SourceEncoder said:Appreciate your input, and you're probably correct that they are not liable. My less than a fiver balance on each of two secondary phones has lasted for more than two years. Probably last another couple unless Three turn them off altogether.1
