There is a new(ish)heat and sound insulation board they use, and after it is screwed to the batons, taped, and the holes are filled , you can paint straight on to it after 30 minutes, no need for messy plaster skimmed plasterboard to dry. The building regs/control/ planning bunnies now insist on the boards as part of the whole green insulation thing.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Sending hugs @Toni'sfriend, wishing you recover in time for your holiday.
Re: plasterboard, up here on our Scottish island, everyone just tapes & fills. They tend not to plaster over them. My brother in Durham has plastered over his though.
Did an exercise routine this morning, then put the bins out & loaded the car for the dump. Now on winter opening hours, so left a bit earlier for work, so I could nip up the road to the dump first. Saw half a pallet in the bottom of a skip, so asked the member of staff to fish it out for me to chop up for my fire 😊
Work went fine, got an online training module done, had a long meeting, then a bit if tidying. Had an early tea as DS1 was working, then I slept for 1.5 hours! Must've needed it. Potted a bit, then read my book in the bath. Only @40 pages left to read of 857!!
Grateful that I don't have to go in for cupboard cleaning tomorrow, going to do an hour's training on various nights next term instead, being on holiday, a lovely head teacher (thankfully she's staying in a bit longer, as the job is currently being advertised for the third time!)Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I've just had a shower and climbed into bed. Some parcels arrived today but no pills, so I'm hoping I can sort that tomorrow. I returned some library books and took a bag of donations to the cs. When DS3 came downstairs he said he didn't really have anything to do until Steam had checked over his latest game and approved it's release so we catalogued records. We've finished the classical ones and done all the rock/folk/ bits of jazz. We only have the Welsh, Gaelic (Scots and Irish) to do and a few strays and really odd things - rude Santa songs in German (but possibly originally Australian because Santa's on a surf board and kangaroos were mentioned).
We stopped at 7 minutes past one and I hurt., my knees and elbows feel as though they're held together with string but the shower helped a lot. No sewing today, no reading since 7 am , I'll do some now because I think my brain needs time to unwind before I can sleep.
Grateful for getting through the records, getting things out of the house and showers and my bed (and thick velvety t-shirts and cuddly cardis).7 -

Forgot to post yesterday but it ended up being a NSD. Was out and about for work all morning (nice £40 expenses claim coming my way!). Then I worked from home for the afternoon, dealt with a massive work frog that really felt good to get out of the way. Did some aquarium maintenance, got rid of 32(!) pest snails, i've no idea where they keep coming from but there's still a few little blighters in there to catch!
Shopping was meant to be delivered, money was taken as usual and then I got a text 10 minutes after the delivery slot to say there'd been a system error so no shopping for us! Luckily the money went back in quickly so I reordered for today, fingers crossed it actually turns up. They've also emailed me a £10 voucher, although having to have the shopping delivered today cost me £5 as its outside of my usual delivery plan, but hey ho.
I also discovered an error I'd made yesterday, I'd ordered currency for our holiday using my credit card - not because I didn't have the money but just to protect the purchase. Paid it straight off but discovered my card provider charges a cash advance fee for foreign currency so am out £35. Lesson learned there...
Today I went to the gym first thing, really struggled this morning, no idea why as I've had 2 days off. Worked from home and caught up on a few bits, then planned some cover for when I'm on leave. I had a half day of annual leave booked to go and do some volunteer training, they emailed mid-morning to cancel, but I decided to keep the leave and have the afternoon off. OH and I went out somewhere local for lunch so £11 spent. Have spent the afternoon catching up on a few chores and playing games.9 -
Good evening 🌘
Get well soon Toni'sFriend 🤗
Yesterday I got myself out for a nice walk around our local park. I definitely felt better for some fresh air.
Had a spend day yesterday as needed medications and had a friend visit - so needed something besides water to entertain haha. Today also a spend day 🙈🙉🙊 as bought a gift for a friend and I'm having a chippy <cough cough>
and movie night. Tomorrow will be a day of saintly no spending!!! 😇🙏🏻
Yesterday/Today I am grateful for:
1) The park and the people that volunteer to keep and maintain it
2) My mobility, senses and physical well being
3) Friends old and new - and ones I haven't seen in years
Today remains NSD number 4
Have a nice evening everyone x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐
