Today I am grateful for buses, for a dry day, for finishing off some turtles and penguins, for good books, for half term getting ever closer.

Forgot to post yesterday but it was a NSD.I cycled partway into work and back again, 10k total and kept a decent speed (most of the time!).
Today was a planned spend day as had a dentist appointment, no concerns but she did recommend going to the hygienist so got that booked in for Monday. I also ordered a magic bag from the local muffin shop, not a necessary spend but a delicious one! I also caved into buying a jumper I saw as I was walking past a window, definitely not a necessary spend either!
Ordered foreign currency for holiday which is a pretty big but necessary spend.8 -
Feeling slightly fragile but got myself downstairs before 10 am to wait for my prescription pills. only 2 items came, more due tomorrow. More cardboard boxes broken up and binned (5 yesterday), 2 bin bags filled, several smaller bags and a dozen pizza boxes - I can see most of the floor now). Tottered to the kitchen to heat soup. Parcels arrived for Beloved and next door. Ordered more items for presents, large toilet roll order will go in towards the month end (this is my way of getting ahead and spreading the cost)
Weather was filthy until mid to late afternoon so not taken library books back (renewed 2 online) but when it finally stopped raining I made several trips to the bins and moved lots of metal poles (framework to two polytunnels) and cut back the brambles that were strangling the household pipes. I swept up some of the dried loosened soil yesterday but not much point today - hopefully the cleared patches will be easily dealt with, if the rain lets up for a day or two (even a few hours would help).
Grateful for getting things done whilst under par, doing quite a bit of walking despite the weather, making progress on sorting the garden and the house and starting the next animal in the set and finishing off bits of the first two.9 -

Wow, some of you have been super busy! Keep up the good work.
Hugs to those under the weather & @cuddlymarm after your operation. They've been saying locally that there is a shortage of apprentices in the construction trade & trying to encourage more to go in that direction. DS3 does construction at college one morning a week (he's in 4th year at school), & has been complimented on his masonry skills. He had a go in the plastering 'booth' at the fair yesterday, & liked it. Don't think there are many plasterers on our island, but then they tend to use plasterboard up here & not plaster directly, as far as I know.
Gale force wind today. Work went ok. Thankfully my pupil took so long to eat their dinner, that we didn't get outside at dinnertime, especially as it started raining too! The teacher thanked me at the end of the day, for all my help in her class. The children have all broken up for the holidays now, I've got training the next 2 days, then hols for me too 😍
Thought about going for a nap after dropping a colleague home, but had a customer due to drop a job off. Managed to not nap in the end. Got 2 sewing jobs done after tea. Spoke to my brother on the phone. It's great that he phones me each week, but I must practice being more patient when he spouts off about things, like he's an expert, when he actually knows nothing about the subject! 🤯
Grateful for colleague giving me surprise petrol money (have detoured to pick her up 5 times since she started at Easter), still skipping, staying dry & not crashing into a school bus on a bend!
Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of days. Following my visit to the respiratory consultant yesterday it appears I have pneumonia. Explains a lot really. So more blood taken (I can't have any left!), antibiotics and steroids. Just waiting for a phone call tomorrow to let me know the dosage. So I'm confined to barracks for the time being and the dreaded biopsy has been postponed till at least the week before Christmas. Good news is that I can go on holiday to the Lake District at the beginning of December as usual, That is unless something else happens. Apparently I'm a very interesting case! I'd rather be ordinary and boring, I think.
So, nothing of any interest happening around here. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.10 -

@Toni'sfriend I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your Lake district holiday in December. Hope you feel better soon.
Yesterday it wasn't a great day, and today I'm already behind with work, but I'm feeling a bit better, so hopefully I'm able to catch up a bit this afternoon. After a spendy Tuesday, I had 2 NSD's in a row.
Yesterday morning I did a lovely yoga class, and intended to do another one this morning, but it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully I can stick to my plan tomorrow.
Book club on Tuesday night was lovely, it is such good food for the soul to be able to discuss a good book at all levels, and hearing everyone's perspective!
Today I am grateful for:- Ibuprofen
