1 Think about your future - i am so horribly rubbish at this one. Can't see beyond the end of the year.
2 Use everything up - I try really hard not to waste anything.
3 Ask yourself if you really need something before buying it Carp at buying anything!
4 Reduce, reuse and recycle - doing all three and rediscovering the downstairs bathroom this weekend
5 Meal plan - always!
6 Grow your own veg - spuds, tomatoes, rosemary, mint, french beans, nothing major, but it all helps.
7 Have an emergency fund - yep.
8 Repair and reuse rather than replace - Doing my best, but the boys managed to smash 2 side plates and a mug yesterday, there have been so many smashages over the last week it has been ridiculous! We are using up all the odds and ends of sets at the minute, when I replace, they will be second hand, and smaller - the size plates were before 1999, when suddenly everything became massive, and cereal bowls became the size of your head.
9 Cook from scratch - made a Thursday Roast yesterday, and had lots of leftover veg and corn on the cobs, so made a (not)chicken and sweetcorn pie - made a white sauce, made pastry, used up all the leftover veg and roasted some potatoes in the oven while the pie cooked. It felt good to know nothing was going to waste. Also made two chocolate cakes for DS1s birthday at the weekend. Bought a jar of 'biscuit spread' to flavour the icing and a big bag of walnuts.
10 Make what you can - really want to try and get crafty this month
11 Don't believe the adverts - you don't need it - adverts are weird. Seriously weird, the only thing I really want is a festive swag of greenery for the stairwell, but it will be coming from a charity shop. Not a proper shop.12 Don't spend more than you have I won't spend more than I have allocated for spending. This week I have had two close friends' marriages totally disintegrate due to infidelity. Whatever happened to 'one at a time'? Then when they get found out, they think it is unreasonable to be asked to leave! What did they think would happen??? I am very disappointed in their menfolk right now, and even more disappointed when my friends wonder if they should take them back. Once the trust is gone, I honestly don't see the point. How can you trust anything they say again? I am a zero tolerance for that kind of nonsense girl. It is just rude! Anyway... Half Term starts here!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for dc going to school, for getting to the gym, for a good hosp appointment about my finger, for getting back from my appointment in time to collect dc from school, for a mild (if wet) day.

I fell asleep just after 8 pm, fully clothed (had taken my shoes off). Toni's friend, look after yourself, you don't want to land in hospital, give yourself plenty of time to recover too.
I'm trying to force myself into a taxi to go and collect my pills as the doctor's surgery has once again messed things up (rather spectacularly). The receptionist assured me that the doctor 'would not let me run out' but signing a prescription at 3-14 pm on a Friday means I can't get it delivered until Monday and they had the prescription with all the items detailed last Monday (2 items delivered on Wednesday).
Sorry, I'm feeling miserable and I don't want to moan. I am grateful for the NHS and all it's workers, my bed, the couch, blankets, cuddly cardigans and jumpers, easy peelers, yoghurt, soup, baked beans (I'm trying not to think about hot vimto), books, sewing and a good drama series.9 -
Thanks, Everyone. The saga continues. Consultant phoned yesterday. Now on complicated dose of steroids, got to go back to see him now on 24th for chat, more blood tests and an xray, phone the Health centre to get tablets to offset the side effects of the steroids and phone to vaccination centre to cancel my COVID jab until he says I can have it. Apparently they are a bit baffled by me and another of his colleagues has asked to be involved as I'm "interesting". Oh well!
On the plus side I shall apparently feel fantastic when the steroids kick in and will be cleaning the house at three o'clock in the morning. It could certainly do with it. Silver linings and all that. And I took my own advice, Abundant, and made some chicken noodle soup, Very yummy!
Hope you get your tablets sorted, Grandmanerd. It's a real pain when they get them wrong or the chemist doesn't have them and you have to go trecking all around the area to find someone who does.
No idea what I'm doing today. No shortage of householdy things but first I shall finish my coffee and get dressed,
Have a lovely day. xxx
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
Take care @Toni'sfriend.
Hope you get your tablets @grandmanerd.
A quiet day here but did manage to get two loads of washing dried on the line.

Today I am grateful for dc having a good day, for arnica cream (yep, me and a kettle bell had a bit of a falling out...), for my microwaveable polar bear, for living in such a lush green country, for coffee, for books.

Today was a spendy day that will hopefully save me money 🤑 . I bought DS4 a second hand bike from a bike shop so that he can ride to school instead of taking the bus. He is a little bit tubby and this is going to sort him out without having to resort to dieting. So that plus a new helmet came to £105. If he rides it for 6 weeks I will be quids in.
The laundry got drenched on the line (freak hailstorm and 5 minute downpour) so it is still out there and another load is waiting to replace it.
I have put the heating on as it is chilly here and due to be cold for the next couple of days.

Good evening 🌑 (Happy New Moon!)
Hugs grandmanerd - given how difficult it is for you to get them - would they deliver? My Dad gets his deliivered, I know he is older - but if you have mobility issues etc...? Just a thought.
Hugs Toni'sFriend - I hope you're feeling better asap. Enjoy the soup too haha!!!
On the subject of tablets... I accidentally missed a dose, and last night I had the worst withdrawal nightmare. As a) an introvert who enjoys quiet and b) someone who is slightly OCD c) a problem solver... imagine my terror: I was in a room with a new board game. It was hugely intricate and there were 1000s of tiny pieces to sort out and a huge rule book. I was trying to work out how to play it and fit all these fiddly pieces to the board. Then loads of kids came in jumping around... and then some awful music started playing really loudly... I knew if I could just work it out and play the game I would be ok... but nobody would be quiet and I couldn't concentrate. It seemed to go on for hours. In my dream I thought 'I am in hell. This is my own personal hell and I am going to be trapped here forever' haha. At that point I woke up totally traumatised haha. Bl**dy tablets!!!! They play havoc with my dreamtime. Lol
My chippy yesterday was amazing... back on the wagon today. Quiet one... just doing house chores.
Today I am grateful for:
1) My local chippy! Even if it is my ruination lol
2) The rain and sleet was nice to watch and hear on my window
3) My computer game
Today = NSD number 5
Have a nice evening everyone x

Glad you've got more of the records sorted @grandmanerd, such a relief for you. Hope you get your tablets sorted soon.
Happy half term @f0xh0les. We've also broken up too 🎉🎉🎉
Yesterday we didn't need to go in for training, as we're doing an extra hour 4 times to learn makaton next term.
Started with a JW workout - my legs shook for an hour afterwards! Cleaned the bathroom, then did lots of sewing.
Delivered the sofa cushions I'd made new covers for, the customer was delighted! Kept me talking for 40 minutes, so a rush to get to town then. Dropped my bag at mum's & walked into town to meet 3 teachers for a meal & drinks. One of their husbands gave me a lift home afterwards, so was back at mum's by 9.30. A bit merry & we shared a box of m4ltesers before heading to bed.
A very stormy night, but slept like a log!
Dropped sewing off & collected more, looked in some CS, got a gorgeous framed x-st picture with birds, bird boxes, butterflies, etc in lots of shades of blue, for £5, also a new travel journal that I've given to DS1 before he leaves for Italy on Monday. Returned a book to the library & logged my interest in a seeing class in the new year, to learn how to use an overlocker. Offered my assistance to teach some beginners classes too, which they were very keen to accept! Did the food shop, then headed home.
Put the shopping away, then had a nap. Wrapoed DS3's presents up, ready for tomorrow. He's quite excited! Watched TV with DS1, then a film after tea, & I did more of my rug.
Grateful for a fun night out, getting a lift home in the torrential rain & strong wind, spending time with my DSs & sharing in their excitement, a good time with mum, that the holidays are here & we can hopefully get some DIY jobs ticked off the list 🤞😃Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
