I’m in Wales although as long as your one bus journey starts or finishes in Wales, we can use the pass, nice for trip to ChesterFloss said:

I have read somewhere that England are considering a bus pass at 60, I was wondering if that would mean we could use them cross border. That’s a coincidence 😊 I started with the NHS at age 17, I was still eligible to claim my pension at 50, stayed on until I was 57 due to Covid. Being on my own and not able to claim my state pension until I’m 67, I retired and returned on 19 hrs. I’m managing that over 2 days, 5 days off is lovely but I’m always looking for things to fill my time that cost very little or nothing. I met my partner 3 years ago and we’ve scraped enough together to buy a small campervan. The mission now is to go away in it with minimum spendI_Love_comps said:@Glad I was 61 in May. I have managed to claim my NHS pension. I worked for the NHS for 20 years. I joined when you could retire at 60. Very glad Of the extra money coming in .

We were in Oswestry recently and have an England pass we home is the west midlands. I asked a bus driver if we could use our free pass to go to Welshpool and he said we could as long as our journey started in England and the same coming back. The next day we decided to try it and the bus driver in Oswestry asked us where we were going and told us we could not use it. He then let us on anyway. other people were getting the bus further into Oswestry and he did not ask them where they were going and they did go into Wales. I then thought that their pass was probably issued by Shropshire council which borders Wales so maybe it was allowed. Our was issued in The West Midlands. I was too worried to try the journey back so as we qualify for quarter fare on the train as my husband used to work for BR we got the train back. I will not be doing that again.Glad said:

Got back yesterday evening. Had a lovely break away up north.
Visited Redcar and Seaham.
Weather was absolutely brilliant. Sunny and hot just like being abroad.
Spent too much. Savings now for our next holiday in October.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning Everyone
Lovely Sunny day here. My plans are too. Do a wash load and hang out for free drying on the line.
Tidy up the back garden and get some vitamin D via the sunshine.
Then later on I will have a shower and use up one of my face masks from my beauty stash.
Just reading a few pages of my book then my day will begin.
I buy my books from charity shops.
Yesterday I started reading

I cannot get over how dysfunctional an upbringing she had yet was still able to perform so well academically later! What stands out is although she is educated she is not conceited with it, unlike some.I_Love_comps said:Morning Everyone

@Rosa_Damascena. Reading through the book makes you think that it was from many years ago, instead of being in the last 35-40 years. The strange ways are linked to the religion. Have not finished the book yet,. It very interesting though.I am a Senior Ambassador on the Competitions Time Board and the Old Style MoneySaving Board.

Morning Everyone
Overcast here and only reaching 19 today.
Stay at home day.
I cleaned out the fridge yesterday, so vacuuming will be today.
I am not a fan of this cooling weather. I love nothing more ,than being able to go out without having to take a coat. Also the sunshine give me a vitamin D boost , of which I lack in and I am on permanent medication from the GP .
I must also get some items listed on a selling site .

I was surprised at the chill in the air this morning. And almost considered putting the heat on when I was going to get in the shower!! But I didn't.
