Hi @I_Love_comps, great update. I too am in the process of decluttering and am amazed how liberating it feels to rid of stuff. My V!nted sales and dropping off items at our local Oxf@m provide me a great sense of satisfaction. Enjoy your time off work.

Afternoon Everyone.
I have 3 parcels to send from vinted. Also another bag for the charity shop.
This time 10 years ago was the last abroad holiday that me and my OH took. I did not know it at he time.
As everything changed in the late October/November when my mom was taken ill. We were told that she would get better, but by the December I knew my mom was not the same person by her actions and the way she spoke and thought.
Ten years ago we were and still going through the dementia journey with my mom. She will have been in the nursing home for 9 years in November. It is 8 years ago that her house was put up for sale- what a time that was being responsible for someone elses house , the insurance and maintaining it. Also clearing it out - every electricity bill was kept for all of the 60 years she was in the house.
My health also suffered with the strain of everything (I am an only child) . I had a breakdown during lockdown and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Gladly I had to take it easy while I was recovering. I have learnt to have me time . Find some hobbies. My mom does not recognise me know and needs full 24 hour care . She was 91 and still going through the dementia journey. I have accepted I still need the medication as I know one day I will get the call that will tell me my mother is nearing the end.
For now we only go away in the UK. But when the dementia journey ends I want to go to Lanzarote.
Have a good afternoon all.

@I_Love_comps - that's a tough decade!
We were lucky with my MiL in that while she had some dementia for a few years before she died it wasn't as bad as some I've seen and she was always really jolly about things. Only at the very end did she get really confused claiming that her father lived "in that house there" which, given she was 96 was impossible. My OH was officially her carer and his dad's before her and so it really took a toll on him and when she died we were free to travel of which we are taking full advantage.

Morning @I_Love_comps, I was so sorry to read that life has been challenging for you over recent years.
Having endured a similar journey with my FIL, I am aware of the negative impact dementia has on all concerned. I am pleased that you now recognise the importance of allocating time for yourself, and that you have found some hobbies that provide you with space to just be. I acknowledge that your situation continues, so would like to share a thought that has helped me through troubled times - accept the bad days, but remind yourself that tomorrow is a new day. One last thing, think of your medication as an umbrella that you put up when it is raining, and that you will take down when it stops.
Well done on the decluttering and Vinted sales, and enjoy those holidays wherever they may be x
