Chased hospital trust (again) about Dad compensation money as they were meant to pay (again) last Friday. Have said I want to submit an official complaint. The complete lack of empathy or professionalism is astounding. It would be sh*te in any situation but that they can't even get their act together to pay the compensation they owe because of their own failures around someone's death is just gobsmacking.

Firstly I'm delighted you are keeping the trousers - what a fab thing to happen to Ava person.

secondly I hope you are coping ok at such a tough time waiting for news of your friend.

and finally .....the hospital trust is behaving very badly.  If you have the energy to do it, email the Director of Finance to ask them to confirm that his team have received authorisation to make the payment and that they have processed the payment.  Name and contact details should be on their website,

Not sure if spending all day every day thinking 'is he alive or dead and what is the best outcome of those' is coping okay but it is what it is. Him being my Schrodingers ill friend atm is very distressing but quite useful coping-wise having both hope he's alive and hope he's not suffering to veer between without having to face an actual fact either way.

I will follow that advice re hospital trust when I have energy to deal with it again, thanks for the idea

Found out my lovely dear old friend died this morning. We were only out celebrating his 60th birthday a few months ago and he was fine and we were all looking forward to many more times together. F*ck motor neurone disease

Contacted people who needed contacting about friend
A third wussy situps
Went to the pub, raised a glass to him.
Went to the bar, 'Wish you were here' was playing.
Had a cry in the toilets.

I am very, very sad. For him, for his family, for us friends, for my future self every time I go to message him to see how he's doing, or to see if he's around for a pint and crossword, and all the times he won't be doing the same now.

He was a safe place, a quiet place, a fun place, a taking the p*ss out of each other place, a being supportive, encouraging, sympathetic, everything will be better place.

Wish he was here.

Very sad to hear about your friend.  It's not any consolation at the moment but you will always have your memories and his family and friends will always be better people for having know him.
