Aw thank you @Blackcats
Despite all my grumbling and cynicism, I am secretly very pleased with myself for conjuring up a whole 5k out of nowhere
Managed to not get woken up by period pains so chuffed with that though felt somewhat shoddy once I did wake up so had a very lazy day. It was a beautiful day for walks, pub gardens, pottering. I did absolutely none of those 😁
Finished reading Earthly Possessions by Anne Tyler which I really enjoyed then resisted pub and added £10 to my I.O.ME instead. Mr PIP and I had beer in the communal garden here and dinner is a medley of fridge and freezer use-it-ups.
I also realised that my diary is now a year old! I am still in 'An in-between phase', though not through lack of trying to progress! Very grateful for all the support and advice I've received here, and how many lovely mates I've made. You're good 'uns, thank you for being part of my life.
But tell me dear friends, does your diary title still reflect your situation/aims? I am fascinated...4 -
I’ve had a few diaries over the years. I think my first one was about 15 years ago. Definitely my current one Progress not Perfection reflects my situation. I’m not aiming to be perfect but as long as I’m progressing that’s good. Keeping a diary on here has definitely helped me get out of debt and changed my mindset for the better.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Yes, I accidentally tripped and bought a French cheese selection in MrS this morning, despite the general lack of disposable income. Whoops...My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

@Sun_Addict your 'not perfect' is everyone else's 'dear lord woman, how on earth do you do so much let alone with the constant trials and tribulations'!
It was very irresponsible of MrS to leave that cheese selection out for innocent passersby to trip and buy @redofromstart
Darn shops, with their nice things, that cost money
That's so nice it's still your forever home @KajiKita, you work so hard in all areas of your life, and from the glimpses you share with us your amazing garden looks so gorgeous
I know it was a while ago you became MF @beanielou but I hope you still feel exceedingly pleased, that is such a fantastic position to be in.
Do you feel that the home has been sufficiently improved?

Hi @PiP, Just popping by to say that I think you've done really well to get that £5k together in your flat pot. I think it is a real demonstration of how small amounts add up & that determination re aggregate small gains can result in a useful sum being pulled together. I know you would like it to be more & I know you are one of the very many people hit by utterly insane property price situation in London, but I do think you deserve some credit for your inspiring daily savings habit & not giving up on it, even though sometimes it feels as though you are fighting an uphill battle.
It's defo a big cheer from the sidelines from me!

Going back to the titles…my ‘must try harder’ is very, very valid 😬

Thanks @foxgloves I appreciate that 😊
You always think you're doing badly @WinterWarrior but you only spend your actual money you earned which you're allowed to do if that's your choice! I see you keeping track of what you spent and getting good deals and bulk buys. Do you think you'd be more enthused about saving if you were more enthused about what you were saving for? Garage roof and future car don't seem to be doing it for you satisfaction-wise...
And thank you for my pot praise *preens a little*
It is indeed @WelshmansDaughter ❤ You did such a lot to make your Dad's time more comfortable and loving, and now do brilliantly supporting and interacting with other family members even when it gets trying2
