    I do like Molton brown.

When my parents moved they had a tiny ex feral tabby who I think was the one they rescued from a tree as a kitten. She dashed straight down the back of the oven housing at the new house and mostly lived there for the next 18 months or so. You could reach round and stroke her but she only came out at night. No idea how they managed to replace the kitchen round her but I think she now
lives behind something in the shed. I've stroked her but never seen her.
  • Aw I love stealth cat, and the thought of
your parents having to build the kitchen around her 😁❤

Your memory of your cat reminded me of HRH The Cat when we brought her home as a kitten. She decided the world was a scary place, and so disappeared underneath my sewing box - a sturdy little thing on legs which sits with probably about 6" ground-clearance. Handily for her, the radiator pipe ran along the skirting board directly behind it, and she promptly curled herself around  it and fell asleep quite happily. That remained on of her favourite places to go and sleep for the rest of the time we were in that flat, in spite of her finding it increasingly tricky to squeeze in there as she grew!

All the small things we have to deal with would be fine if they helpfully spread themselves out and gave us a bit of time to breath and regroup between one and the next - but they tend not to, instead coming along in little clumps designed to hit us with something else before we've recovered from the previous thing. Eventually, it's entirely natural that our bodies (and minds!) say "enough, I need a break from dealing with all the things now!" I think, no matter how much we try and fight against it when that happens!

  • Aw bless little (and bigger!) HRH The Cat @EssexHebridean
Yes life does have a way of things coming in threes, then life going 'sorry, lost count, have another couple of something rubbish just to make sure' doesn't it!
  • The mid-week mse doings:

    Receipt survey
Entered omaze by post, ten minute walk
    Survey

Bits from mums, she paid me back £14 for something I ordered for her so have added that to my I.O.ME
A slight cheat but it's money not coming off that account again as that's been covered by PB so I'm okay with it for a morale boost to the dental total

45 minute walk getting a tenner of essentials with voucher so taking that off my I.O.ME as I would rather have used it for treat bits
Found three crime novels which I shall enjoy reading, including one from the Point Horror series I adored as a child

Lunch was a sandwich Mr PIP brought back left over from a work meeting

25 minute walk getting wine from Aldi. This is an essential! Paid for from my monthly budget (for everything, not just wine sadly)

Prepped a big mac cheese that I promised Mr PIP as he's been out smashing up the big work shed on the land we're 'hoping' to build on.
We figured he has some annual leave that needs using and we might get a wee bit more if we do need to sell the land, if it's completely ready to build on.
Hope so as the next and only other thing we're allowed to do without council consents is shelling out a ton of our meagre life savings for excavations, underpinning and foundations...

Two thirds wussy situps (free exercise)

Cleaned relevant kitchen areas after mac cheese making. I'd forgotten what an intense (messy) process it is 😁

Small bit of spec work which I shall try to add to this evening

Good plan to do as much clearing on the land as you can, although I definitely hope that it's for you to be building on, rather than for it to be sold after all this!

Mmmm...Mac and cheese...not had that in an age - it doesn't quite feel the right sort of food for this time of year, although it will be back in the rotation for the autumn I'm sure!

  • I so hope so @EssexHebridean!
I think you owe mac cheese an apology, it is quite clearly an all year round food 😁
Though since you posted it's turned to autumn so happy mac cheese days
