  • I have an interest in fitness PiP hence the query.
Sit-ups aren’t done that often nowadays so I was curious

A very belated congratulations on the move along with a much  needed "slow down, woman!"

Delighted to see there has been another fluster of discussion of childhood books on here since I went away - and can reveal that I last read Ballet Shoes inside the last year, and own a copy of both that and of course White Boots too!

SA - I think it was you that mentioned the Jill books? Was she the one who sprained her wrist swinging the feed bucket and so couldn't ride for aaaages? Or was that someone else? Whoever it was, it instantly ensured that I stopped swinging buckets as the idea of not being able to ride was beyond the pail...sorry, pale...! I liked (and still own several of) the Pony Club series - with Noel, Henry, Christopher and the (terrifying!) Major. Completely a world I could never even imagine being a part of, but fascinating, nonetheless!

  • I always take a fan on the tube when it's boiling @LadyWithAPlan, my joints don't allow it for long but I'm the person sitting next to me's favourite person while it lasts!
That's such a nice win, you've done so well comping lately. Are you going to make your parents compete for the honour of going with you? 😁

I have no interest in fitness @WelshmansDaughter so you're doing much better than me! I think people do planking and whatnot instead these days but that is not becoming a feature with my shoulders

Cheers and yes, slow down as soon as possible @EssexHebridean! Also, get yer coat (because of the awful pun, not cos you've pulled 😂)

Going back to fans, I bought a 2 pack of usb chargeable fans for under £10 and they are brilliant. Just hand held, but they come with a wrist strap and a stand each and have 3 settings. They are perfect for carrying about, easily charged up….and saves the pain of manual wafting!

  • Ooh could you send me a link if you recommend please @WinterWarrior, that was on my shortlist for Mr PIP's birthday but I didn't know if it would be really pricey to get one that actually worked and was suspicious of buying random tat that would be financially and environmentally wasteful as well as a quickly disappointing present!
  • Well I woke up horribly early with horrendous period pains so have done admin, tidying and comping. Waiting for family friends to leave in a few hours and Mr PIP to go to work then I'm going back to bed! Promised mum we'd go to her choir event this evening so that'll be a 40 minute walk and peopling, and that's quite enough activity
