Hope the stay goes well and bad luck on the cut knuckle. Is your tetanus current ….?

I don’t line litter trays either. With the latest two chaos-monkeys I put a half bin bag (just folded) on the floor under the tray - it catches the odd accident (just pull the corners in and dump the lot) or it catches all the flying litter, which then can be rolled into the centre of the bin bag and tipped back into the tray. Reduces dispersal a bit! 😉

  • I do like a good pick up of stuff from side of road. I leave stuff out at my place for people to take. Can’t do that at sisters though, too neat
  • Tetanus not up to date @KajiKita, thanks for the reminder! Have added it to the to-do list

Extremely premenstrual which is really helping with joints and being tetchy and anxious

Shower and hairwash before we have to navigate family friends for the next few mornings

    Few bits from mums

Cleaned flat. Joints and back aching lots and lots

Opened a banananana by myself which is always an achievement

Mum said to not worry about paying her the council tax which is very lovely of her but didn't sit right with me, especially since housing association are raising her rent (don't know what work they think she can go and get to cover it..) so we agreed a compromise price. She's happy and I've got enough left over to cover my pot estimate for Mr PIP's birthday so that's a relief

Nearly an hour and a half on the phone to HMRC because they f*cked up again.
You remember the saga of me asking them for a decade when I'd be able to see if I needed to pay three years worth of NI contributions? And I eventually put a complaint in? And they eventually said I did owe it and they would allow me as it was their c*ck-up?
Got a letter today saying it was too late to pay- I did my absolute nut.
The woman on the phone eventually agreed they had agreed I could pay it and said it should show on my records in EIGHTEEN WEEKS
No wonder this country is such a shambles and so many of the population are terrible with money.

20 minute walk for pub calm time.

Family friends start their stay this eve so it worked out well we prepped our sauce yesterday as we'll be able to do a quicker dinner and not clash with their needing to use the hob

Lawks I am tired. Looking forward to this hypothetical day off from needing to do a million things!

  • Its a very random place HMRCland. I feel like there is some sort of drunkenness going on where somebody just makes random links that go nowhere just for s**ts and giggles
  • I thoroughly agree @beanielou and @WelshmansDaughter!
What really got my goat was the the throwaway line at the end of the letter saying 'You should act quickly as there are strict time limits for refunds'
    The absolute cheek of it.

Anyhoo. I am a cool, calm, and collected person, I am a cool, calm, and collected person *pours another glass of wine*

Actually, do you know what else really p*ssed me off- the woman I was on the phone to (who, I hasten to add, I was polite to) said she'd put me on hold again so she could try to find someone to consult with then came back and said everyone had gone home. At 4.20 on a Tuesday. I mean, I'm very very very much for workers rights, but I'm a self employed person with a chronic pain condition and I don't knock off before 4.20 (much) and I'm not responsible for the country's finances!

And the letter they sent had a contact bit where it said 'phone' and they'd left it blank, and the only other option was the generic .gov website. Absolutely astonishing behaviour.
Maybe I should be responsible for the country's finances, it would be difficult to do a worse job

You could enlist all your debt free and mortgage free wannabe friends into running the country's finances and HMRC.  (I'd prefer not to be in your HNRC team though as 18 week turnaround time is a bit tight to fit in with my work/life balance).  You'll notice that I'm online at 4.35 on a Wednesday so I'm not a shirker but 18 weeks is too much of a rush for me. 🥴
