Nothing about any DRA fee on any sign!

The Asda ones also suggest that the free stay being much shorter (1.5 hours as opposed to 3 hours) means they know they'll catch many more people out so they have deliberately set these completely different times and levels to make as much money as possible.

i.e they've set it at £100 a pop where it's a bigger retail park with a more generous 3 hour free stay ... because they know that fewer PCNs will inevitably be issued.

This demonstrates all that is wrong with a model that lets the PPC dictate the PCN level and the free stay time instead of providing proper parking management as a service, along lines set by the retailers themselves.

Thruscross Car Park (Yorkshire Water) from this current thread, photos taken this week:

    £50 PCN level.

Ambiguous which party is offering the contract: looks like Bransby Wilson but the PCN came from Minster Baywatch.

    Nothing about added DRA fees.

Images taken close up and one car length away. Reduced charge for early payment is mentioned but not quantified.
Additional charges mentioned but not quantified.
Ts and Cs are in such tiny font on signs 2m or more above the ground that they are unreadable and therefore cannot possibly form a deterrent.
No mention of "No return within ...." period, so no deterrent for motorists to drive out and back in again.
No requirement to display a blue badge, which is good since the BB scheme doesn't apply on private land.
No mention of obtaining keeper data from the DVLA, indeed, no mention of the keeper at all, nor keeper liability.
No mention of driver liability other than the term, "You".
My interpretation is therefore that the posted Ts and Cs applied to me, a pedestrian visiting the store without a vehicle simply because I was reading the sign.

    Waitrose, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.

Confusing signs from two different companies.

There are several of these signs, some of which are more prominent than the ones provided by the unregulated private parking company.

Sign almost 3m above ground, and unreadable even close up.

Ts and Cs are more arduous than those on the landowner/landholder's signs. A motorist would be excused for believing the terms on the landholder's signs prevail as per the CRA 2015.

The fine print is unreadable in person, or by zooming in. There is no way for a motorist to know if there is a reduced charge for early payment, nor how data would be obtained nor used, nor who would be liable for a PCN, The signs were so high up that I could not reach the bottom of them.

Weston-super-Mare Railway Station, with several GWR signs indicating that it is a railway asset.

Drop off/short stay car park. No entrance signs.

Short stay parking area. No details of Ts and Cs, just a vague comment that a PCN may be issued from some unknown entity.

Main car park pedestrian entrance. Usual unreadable APCOA signs.

Inside the main car park. Again unreadable Ts and Cs.

    Unreadable at a car length.

Ts and Cs at shin level.

Mention is made of a higher amount if legal action is taken, but the amount is not specified.

Esso Garage near Hove station. This first sign is so faded that my friend couldn't even read which PPC was responsible for this trash:

    So it's PCM.

    Nothing about added DRA fees.

    Same area near Hove station.

NPC reckon this forms a contract with people coming to collect Royal Mail parcels:

Trouble is, this sign isn't even inside the Royal Mail site and apparently the customer bays inside the gates (an entrance that was a good 20 metres past this obscured sign tucked on the back of a red hoarding) have no signage at all for drivers to read once parked inside.

Nothing about any DRA fee on the sign.

BPA-connected Moorside Legal and their ilk always pretend that the DRA 'fee' is a deterrent that encourages early settlement.

    What DRA fee?

Looks like they lied, didn't they?
