I already posted on another thread:

Here's a picture of the woeful Gatwick signs, taken by a relative as we dropped off a friend this weekend (... hello NCP...).

No we didn't forget to pay once back home but we had to keep reminding each other and it was only because I knew all about it that it remained in my mind and we made a point of paying within half an hour of getting home.

I can totally see why people forget!

    Nondescript signs. Unreadable t&cs.

    Nothing about added DRA fees.

Why is it justifiable to be a massive £100 reduced to £60? Extortionate for a minor human error.

Why is it the same as stopping on double reds or causing an obstruction? It is absurd enrichment. It USED to be £15 as the early discount.
Thanks CM - got a trip top Gatwick coming up, so that'll be fun.

Unless you are readily able to access the internet, how is one supposed to remember a) that they went and life didn't get in the way, and b) know where to go to pay? On a serious note, I'm sure you could search it on a browser but surely there are going to be some (further) scam sites out there....

I assume that you can only pay online, which again seems wrong...

There's a phone number you can ring.

But as you say, unless you take a photo of the sign like my family did, how do you know at home if you just Google it, that these aren't spoof websites and numbers?

I have to say I didn't like the webpage my relative was presented with when they paid online at the weekend.

It was headed 'eKashu' and something about a BPA corporate member called 'Simply something' who we Googled first and discovered they offer barrier-less payment 'solutions' at Airports and other parking/stopping sites in Europe.

It looks odd. It doesn't mention NCP.

Even I didn't trust it and I had a photo of the sign to hand and knew about the system.

This is better discussed in the Airport drop-off group thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Here's Euro Car Parks' sparkling new sign at this Welsh retail park:

The complicated and non-specific 'max stay' times overlap and clash with each other. So, the terms are ambiguous and must be interpreted in the way which most favours the consumer.

Nothing readable about DRA fees being added.

Nothing about added DRA fees or costs.

Shows that £50 is sufficient deterrent, plus the fact it's privately 'managed'. Nobody local and in the know parks at that car park!

No idea what the terms are.

No idea what the enforced area or rules are, even if you stopped and read it slowly for ten minutes you still don't know!

But as ever, nothing is specified about any costs or DRA 'fee' increase.

If the Parking Charge remains unpaid, the DVLA may be contacted for keeper details!  How are they going to send a PCN to the RK unless the have already contacted the DVLA?  How can the RK (or anyone come to that) pay unless they receive the PCN, which they won't unless CUP have contacted DVLA?

Because the more gibberish* you can squeeze on the sign, the less clear it becomes and the more tickets you get to dish out!

    * fun fact - the Gibraltan accent is known as Gibberish 😁
