Failing to park within the bay markings !!!! brilliant good old Ipserv putting zero back into sites...

I notice it says valid permit and then charges apply - does that mean it is a pay and display car park (Ambiguous) - shouldn't they be telling you where you can pay also - or get a permit?

Likewise for the Total CP's one above - where does one get a permit :)

Hellingly Travelodge & Starbucks at Eastbourne; sign from this current thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6613652/horizon-parking-sign

    Horizon Parking:
£85 charge but nothing readable about either the terms (which are in minuscule text) or any 'deterrent' of a DRA fee.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Another Horizon sign from this news article:

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14653127/hour-parking-cowboy-firm-fined-machine-isolated-intimidated.html

    Again:
£85 charge but nothing readable that could remotely be construed as having any 'deterrent value' which the industry like to kid the Government is one reason for adding a DRA fee 'to encourage early settlement of PCNs without the need for debt recovery' (as Moorside Legal - the BPA's President Mike Marrs' firm - likes to spin).

Only it's really not a valid argument, is it?! Nobody knows about the leap by £70 until it's too late.

NOT THAT PUTTING THE EXTORTION ON THE SIGNS IS A FAIR/VALID OPTION, MHCLG!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Meadowhall Retail Park clearly think £50 works as a deterrent because here's the G24 sign from 2019:

Taken from this thread, which also shows the PCN was £50 back in 2018 too:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81423814/#Comment_81423814

And here the new sign is in 2025, still £50

In fact, both of these signs do mention a "£60 collection fee" but sadly for G24 it's in such minuscule font compared to the £50 PCN, there's no way anyone can read this in real time, when giving it a sideways glance at best, as a busy shopper.

    Non-prominent terms are unrecoverable.

Certainly no deterrent value in the DRA 'fee'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
