A warning if you transfer in using previous years ISA , check your account because they taken the transferred amount off of this years allowance. Do not bother using chat bot to sort it out -- a waste of time.
Wish i had not bothered with Nat West   more hassle than than any other ISA provider we have used..

I probably should have looked at this forum before opening a NW ISA!
Oh well, my pension lump sump doesn't arrive until the end of the week anyway

Still waiting on these clowns, got the email on the 3rd to say i'd get a text with my activation code within 48hrs and still nothing. I see the deadline for new cash is the 9th so getting tight now!
You have to open your account by 9 Aug. You have until 1 sept to send new money.
  • I opened their  2 Year ISA this morning. As a current account customer it all seemed to go OK. No further ID required so far. It will be the new home for a 2 Year Virgin ISA at 4.11% with 1year and 7 months left to run. I did have the option to fund it whilst applying but seeing remarks here I decided to wait until I can see the account online which should be tomorrow. If all is well I can meet the Aug 14th external transfer request date.

I had that showing initially. The next day it rectified itself and this years allowance was intact.
  • Applied for an ISA account on the 6th of August. Will transfer an EA from YBS. ID checks done on the 7th and account details mailed to me this morning. YBS have informed me yesterday that transfer process is underway. All seems seamless and very good.

    Some folks complain about anything.

Some folks have more to complain about. If their (and mine) went as smoothly as that they/I wouldn't be complaining.

I found the ISA impossible to open. Firstly the option of funding wasn't available. I tried opening another one, and they seemed to have fixed their website, but you could only transfer out an ISA if it had an 8 digit numeric account no, which none of mine do.

Completely amateurish process that doesn't work.

If you cant perform the transfer online you can download an ISA transfer form from the Nat West website and post it to them. That is what I did

I have just shown that the NAT WEST account opening process does work. If it’s not the process it’s the person.

All you have shown is that the process worked on one single occasion.

Other people have posted that it has not worked on a number of occasions.

You have no knowledge of why it didn't work on those occasions.
