Different wording, luckily I opened RBS to deposit this years allowance + Natwest for ISA transfer

To make your initial payment into your Fixed Rate ISA, you will need to set the account up as a new payee, using the account number and sort code via your online banking. Following payments can be made through Digital Banking, in branch and by telephone.

You can make payments in branch and by telephone

Do you need to set up Internet banking for these fixed rate isa's or can you just apply online and then get some sort of certificate of investment thru the post?

Ok thanks for that but do you need to set up Internet banking during the application if you are a new customer?

Trying to transfer an isa from Leeds BS and it's asking for sort code & Acc Number or Roll Number. All I have is a 10 digit Acc Number. I've tried putting this in the Acc Number box and also the Roll number box but on both occasions it won't accept it and allow me to proceed without a sort code. Anyone any ideas what to do?

Although I haven't continued with my N/W application for their ISA, I did learn that if no S/C and A/N is available, a paper request must be sent in. It was just another hurdle amongst all the others that cropt up, some of which have since been clarified.

The form is here. Hope it helps.

It's been 8 days, and I got a customer number and online reference yesterday. Do we have to wait until we get an online banking login to fund the account?

I'm up to the customer number part.
But now need to wait either 2 days for the "activation code" or 7-10 days to get it by letter.

Assume then can see the set up ISA / or may have to actually set it up.
That's all been about a week, then the fun bit begins with paper form to Natwest, them contacting NS@I, them sending a cheque, Natwest picking it up....

    see you in September!

When I applied I ticked to transfer my Nationwide ISA. I added the generic sort code and my roll/reference number. I’m now worried that it’ll fail and I should have done the form. If I’d realised it would be this slow/challenging I don’t think I’d have bothered. I only went with NatWest as I was out off having to go into branch to transfer into the Nationwide alternative!

Information needed to withdrawal/transfer out instructions is normally the same as when depositing, using how do I make payment into account example - Account number: the first 8 numbers only of your 10 digit account number - 10 digit account number for reference number.
