Nat West ISA application.

confusedfreelancer said:I opened a Natwest Fixed Rate ISA last week. During the application, I asked to transfer money from my Skipton ISA, but was unsure whether this would actually happen as the form wanted a sort code and my Skipton ISA doesn't have one. I put in Skipton's generic sort code in the hope that would work, along with my account number.
My Natwest ISA is now open and showing on my online banking, but it's empty. Should I assume that the transfer failed and try to transfer it some other way? (Anyone know how to do this, as there doesn't seem to be an option on either Skipton or Natwest online banking?) I haven't had anything through the post yet.
I can't call them as Relay UK has been having issues lately and I don't have anyone to help me.I woudn't be unduly concerned. As long as the account number was correct there shouln't be a problem - and if there is missing/incorrect info, they will almost certainly get back to you to rectify it. And in any case, as @Stargunner says, it often takes a while for the transfer to go through. Yesterday was the last day for transfers so they will be inundated.According to @bristolleedsfan posting in the main cash isa thread "Fantastic service via direct message https://twitter.com/NatWest_Helpso you could try that if you're worried

I know it’s not everyone’s experience but I can’t fault Natwest.
existing customer so simpler buy opened ISA last Thursday, money is in the ISA now after transfer from Virgin, five working days0 -
Opened an ISA for me as an existing Natwest customer a couple of weeks ago and no issuesTried to open for my wife as a new customer and missed the 14 Aug 2023 deadline for receipt of paperwork because Natwest processing was abysmally poor. £20k waiting to invest, called them up and explained the situation but only response was sorry, nothing we can do and just wait for next issue and see what interest rate isNow looking for best interest rates for the ISA and won't be Natwest as they have dropped way down the list. UBL Bank seem to top the list just now at 5.77%,. but customer service comments are not very good and app seems to be poor0

Spooky, I have just opened the NatWest ISA as an existing customer and I, too will be transferring from Virgin 4.11% all very easy and smoothsamtaylor99 said:I opened their 2 Year ISA this morning. As a current account customer it all seemed to go OK. No further ID required so far. It will be the new home for a 2 Year Virgin ISA at 4.11% with 1year and 7 months left to run. I did have the option to fund it whilst applying but seeing remarks here I decided to wait until I can see the account online which should be tomorrow. If all is well I can meet the Aug 14th external transfer request date.
I completed the transfer form on the morning if Thursday 10th Aug so I await to see how long the transfer takes!0 -
