I opened their  2 Year ISA this morning. As a current account customer it all seemed to go OK. No further ID required so far. It will be the new home for a 2 Year Virgin ISA at 4.11% with 1year and 7 months left to run. I did have the option to fund it whilst applying but seeing remarks here I decided to wait until I can see the account online which should be tomorrow. If all is well I can meet the Aug 14th external transfer request date.
Spooky, I have just opened the NatWest ISA as an existing customer and I, too will be transferring from Virgin 4.11% all very easy and smooth

I completed the transfer form on the morning if Thursday 10th Aug so I await to see how long the transfer takes!

Applied for an ISA account on the 6th of August. Will transfer an EA from YBS. ID checks done on the 7th and account details mailed to me this morning. YBS have informed me yesterday that transfer process is underway. All seems seamless and very good.

    Some folks complain about anything.
I found the ISA impossible to open. Firstly the option of funding wasn't available. I tried opening another one, and they seemed to have fixed their website, but you could only transfer out an ISA if it had an 8 digit numeric account no, which none of mine do.

Completely amateurish process that doesn't work.
I have just shown that the NAT WEST account opening process does work. If it’s not the process it’s the person.
No, I have shown that it does not work if your account no is not 8 digits.

As I informed you previously, you just need to print off a ISA transfer form and post it to them.

I opened my ISA with very little issue and I'm a non NatWest customer, I did have to download a transfer form which I posted and my old ISA was moved in around five days tops so it's not all bad news.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

Does anyone know what happens if you open a fixed account but don't pay any money in, does it just auto cancel? I'm waiting on some money being paid in that I was going to lock away but they're dragging their feet about it. I'm expecting the rate to go down on the NW fix with the new issue since it seems like their other fixes are, so I was wondering whether I should just open an account while I can(I'm an existing customer so today is the last day I think?) and hope I can send the money before the fix starts?

  • I opened a Natwest Fixed Rate ISA last week. During the application, I asked to transfer money from my Skipton ISA, but was unsure whether this would actually happen as the form wanted a sort code and my Skipton ISA doesn't have one. I put in Skipton's generic sort code in the hope that would work, along with my account number.

My Natwest ISA is now open and showing on my online banking, but it's empty. Should I assume that the transfer failed and try to transfer it some other way? (Anyone know how to do this, as there doesn't seem to be an option on either Skipton or Natwest online banking?) I haven't had anything through the post yet.

I can't call them as Relay UK has been having issues lately and I don't have anyone to help me.

It can take anything from a few days to a few weeks for the transfer to complete and the funds will not show in your ISA until then.
It would be worth contacting them to ensure that they got your transfer request, because the deadline for them to receive external transfer requests was yesterday.
I posted a transfer form to them and received a text from them last week to confirm that they received my request.

Natwest are probably very busy with transfers since they launched the top fixed rate ISAs. I called them to find out if they had got my electronic transfer form, as I had no confirmation. After waiting 55 mins in a queue the guy told me that the ISA transfer team do not take phone calls anymore - they are only contactable by 'chatbot'. I used it, what a joke, and then it finally gives you a phone number to call, which I called. I was on hold 58 minutes before being cut off!

Eventually on the 4th Aug Coventry sent a letter to say it had been transferred. Today I got a letter from Natwest dated the 9th August saying that Coventry cannot process the transfer due to information not matching up! They ask me to contact them to make sure my information is correct. This is rubbish, I did other transfers in/out of there no problem. They also enclose a paper transfer from to complete and send by post to Natwest. The money was transferred into the ISA so Natwest seem to have no clue what they are doing! Plus their post is slow!
