Had the £100 from N4tionw1de paid into my account. Can chase up the bank switch now 😃 Hung the washing out before breakfast, got a few other bits done, so managed to read whilst eating this morning. 

Work went ok, a slight blip at lunchtime with work bestie's pupil, but had it under control & her voice in the back of my mind telling me that he's only pushing me away because he likes me helped. Head teacher pleased how I handled it yesterday & today.

Had a nap once if got home. It's not as hot as it is south, but the past 2 days it's been over 20°C which is scorching for our islands, pleased about the constant light breeze.

Set the DSs their jobs for the day, then I transplanted some broccoli & leeks into raised beds. Gave cobbled together some chicken wire to surround the broccoli, so the 2 baby rabbits don't have them for breakfast! Facetimed DH, said he'll be there another week yet, but starting to improve.

Grateful for DH getting better, time to plant veg, how well I coped & stated calm at lunchtime

Today I will complete coat one of two on my blindingly white wall 🧱 . I might make it to coat two  on the half I did yesterday.  Then I will go down to the Wading Bird store and stock up on iced  tea for the fridge and make more ice cubes. Supper will be pizza cos the dough will go nuts in this weather and I have about 2 kilo of cheese left from 🦵🦆 store last week.

I am so ashamed.   My kids don't rate filo pastry at all. I love it. They are so disappointed. I don't want give it up.  Which one should I keep? 🤣😂

Stay hydrated - if you have any dodgy teabags you want to get rid of. They are good cold ❄️. Like unsweetened squash.

Today I am grateful for the shade provided by the honeysuckle I planted 2 years ago, for the air blowing cooler today at the gym than it was on Monday, for some very helpful plant sellers on the end of the phone, for pottering on with my marking, for some neighbours being willing to lend us a baby car seat and some toddler toys when the grand kids (plus their parents) come over from Oz in August.

Popped into Tezco to buy milk after dropping DS at school this morning, and then returned his library books. When driving back home I saw one DS’s friend’s Mum. Have spoken to her in the playground and I know she’s felt quite isolated and has struggled to get work. So I asked if she would like to meet at lunchtime for a coffee… I did feel a bit like I was asking her on a date 🤣. Anyway picked her up and took her for a coffee. Had a good chat about our children and about her home country of Algeria. Had a laugh at the fact we’re all sweltering in this heat but it can reach 45C in Algeria - imagine!!! 

Busy day at work, powered through to do list for a big event we’re holding tomorrow! Feeling mostly organised.  

Free £100 from NW bank arrived in OH’s account and our joint account and was swiftly moved to our holiday savings pot before we got any other ideas.

Also got an energy bill through that didn’t scare the living daylights out of me. I was relieved to see we were back in credit… thanks to the hot weather. I did see that our electricity usage made up the bulk of the bill but I have been trying to reduce by being more efficient with washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, and charging devices (sooo many devices between the three of us!). 

Grateful today for free cash, for summing up the confidence to make a move on school friend’s Mum 🤣, and for a lower energy bill!

Even hotter today! 25° on the way to work, 27° on the way home 😯 don't ever remember it being that hot up here!

Got things done before work, including getting my box of summer clotges out of the shed 😊 my pupil was back after transition days, VERY pleased to see me, very complimentary & had brought a packet of sweets in for us to share. Had a blip later, but has a lot to deal with.

Brought GF home with me (now ex GF, bit friends with DS1). Made tea, washed the dishes, then got 2 sewing jobs done. Took GF home, then weeded a raised bed.

DH messaged to say he'd had a minor op today, to put a more permanent cannula in. 1 Dr told him he might be there another 30 days yet! I offered to go down & take him some more clothes, but he said he'd wash what he'd got in the bathroom sink & dry it on the towel rails! Might persuade him yet. The boat is 8 hours each way. Work best offered to accompany me.

Grateful for eating tea outside (first time this year!), DS's helping, good friends, ice lollies

Hugs @Thrifty_Taylor. I am willing to cause a distraction if you ever need to break him out of there. But he is probably in the safest place for now. Hope he returns soon.  All hail the NHS. 🏥👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️🧑‍⚕️
 Grateful for 50p d/f choc ice cream tubs in 🦵 🦆 store.  A possible foreign fellowship for DH next year. Having a mere half a wall left to second coat. You actually go snow blind when the sun hits it. 🤣 Not  getting sunburnt at all so far. 
Yard project will be completed this weekend. Quite excited about it.

hang in there @Thrifty_Taylor hope you get him home asap. 

No NSD yest, managed a jog before work as it was a WFH day which also means naughty food day apparently, as bf came home with samosas and parathas for dinner which we had with eggy dhal. Was delicious. Went for a lovely walk and sat and chatted in the park watching the various dogs and people -  a brown border collie playing with its young owner (7ish) following him everywhere he went and copying his every move. Very cute 

Grateful for a nice day with bf, for samosas, for dogs.
