A different sort of day today, felt on top of things this morning & got a few things done before work. My pupil was having transition days at secondary school today, so I spent the day in the junior end of the school, which made a nice change.
Took DS3 into town after school to get toe capped boots for his construction course & open a new bank account, but the bank was closed. Made tea when I got home, then picked DS1 up from the garage after dropping his car off. Took a detour on the way home & showed DS an old quarry, which is currently dried up. Thought he might like it for his wild camping. Washed the dishes, set the boys a job each to.fo, then managed to sit & hook some rug for half an hour.
Grateful for craft time, a scorching hot day, time with some little ones. An 8 year old asked me if I was married, then if I wanted to get pregnant! 🤣 Nope, enjoying my DSs being older nowUse it up, wear it out

How lovely to get chatted up by an 8 year old @Thrifty_Taylor
Tell DH he will have to get back home soon as the sharks are circling already! You can spend the rest of the day singing 'you se*y thing' to yourself.
Was rudely awoken at 5.05 by a loud neighbour on his phone talking about just finding a body on the street - I think it was a cat judging by the lack of police. Unstrangely enough I could not go back to sleep after that. So fruit and coffee have been consumed. Going to focus on raw and healthy, or cup soups for any meal I eat alone. Some things I can control, some things I can't.Today will involve stripping as much paint off the outside wall as is humanly possible, and starting to paint the bit that was stripped at the weekend. I have bought cable pins to attach the plastic trellis to the wall. It is going to be 29 degrees. After volunteering, went to the supermarket, got caught in the thunderstorm driving home, made them all supper, prepped for supper tonight so it will all be quicker (cheese and onion filo pie) with pre-cooked potatoes.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Morning turtles
Yesterday was a bit grim. Was very tired and had a savage headache all day. Feel much better after a good night’s sleep. No frogs were eaten yesterday but it was an NSD (I think 6) gym at lunchtime made me feel slightly better for a couple hours before the headache kicked back in. Today is a new day!!Grateful for the gym, for painkillers and for bf’s batch cooking.Student loan £5655

I'm so glad to see that things are getting a bit more positive for you, Thrifty Taylor.
I spent hours yesterday morning trying to contact Virgin Media. They must have the worst customer service in the world. Round and round in circles. Eventually, I managed to "speak" to someone on their messenger service. I explained that I didn't use my landline, don't even have a handset, won't be in and honestly just can't be bothered just now because of my ill health. She (I think it was a young lady) was so helpful and sympathetic. Apologised for my being bothered like this, cancelled the order and wished me well. She'll get my vote for employee of the month! The new hub has been dispatched already but I've to tell the carrier to take it back (provided I'm here when he tries to deliver it). Anyway that took away a bit of stress.
Hospital visit was very long yesterday. They had to slot a lady in to fit in with her other treatments and everything seemed to take such a while. Appointments got way behind but that can't be helped. Sometimes it works the other was and you get taken early. But on the plus side the people in the small waiting room introduced themselves, started chatting and we were entertained by a lady (who was accompanying her mother) telling us of her adventures going abroad with the Tartan Army. She's off to Norway shortly. Such cheery souls in spite of their difficulties; most of which are far worse than mine.
So, it is very hot here already. I've got some washing on and Himself is going to the shops for eggs and mushrooms so I can make omelettes for lunch. I'm losing my appetite and don't really feel much like eating. Unfortunately it's not translating into weight loss on the scales!
Plans for today. I'm going to sit here in the cool of the living room for a bit and after lunch it'll be another day out on the train to the hospital.
Have a lovely day. xxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -

Today is a good and productive day. I have finished scraping the whole of the long garden wall, and started repainting it, and although I have only done the first coat on about 1/4 of the wall, it looks fantastic!! Really really good. So much better than I expected! Very proud of me today. Scraped paint off for 3 hours this morning in the shade, then painted for an hour after lunch before I spontaneously combusted and had to run for the bottle of green aftersun gel. It is Aloe Vera based and has taken all the red away - the red appeared 15 minutes after I came in. I have a watch strap mark. It is the bit with zero freckles.Don't forget to drink lots, and to make ice cubes. Ice cream is medicinal. It is a fact.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Today I am grateful for getting a bunch of marking done, for chats with my big sis, for my sick note being extended, for having prepped today's lunch yesterday, for downloading the last 2 books in the series I'm reading, for meeting up with a friend this evening.

Five down. Fourteen to go, More than a quarter of the way through. Yay. Good selection of music today. Queen, Fleetwood Mac and Elton John but not helpful for trying to keep very still and not move a muscle. Getting to know the other patients and believe it or not having a laugh with them, Black humour certainly but very funny.
Very, very hot now. Bought a pasta salad from Aldi on the way home, Not what I would do normally but it was just what what I fancied eating.
House needs a right good clean but do I care. No xxxxHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
