Absolutely. Yet another 'improvement' that makes life harder. Now we can neither edit a big quoted post nor highlight part of it to make it clear what part of the post we reply to. And with simple copy&paste + quotation marks it's almost impossible to find out what/whos post you refer to.
Who on earth invents all these ill-thought 'improvements'?

I have not been able to reply to anyone for about 4 months, every time I write a reply I get the message '9 characters too short'… no matter how many words, paragraphs or chapters I write I'm always 9 characters short!

This seems like a very ' back to front' response @MSE_Stephen. Surely, instead of looking for alternative ways to get around the problems with the new editor there should have been some consultation or research done on what forumites (hate that word) use, need and want before choosing a new system.
Just as one example, there are numerous challenges that use lists

I'm on the mobile site and the quote icon comes up if you tap the paragraph symbol (the backwards P) and it's the inverted commas symbol. Then that menu gets you an option to quote.
Let's see …
Ah yes, you can put it in before pasting quote
And to get out of it, double enter.
I really do hate the inability to pare down actual quoted posts though, losing who said what in a long and complex thread will be exceptionally confusing. But on all of the boards I frequent here, people often give long explanations about their situation or long posts of advice and for the question we need to be able to pick out just the relevant parts to reply to, and when people give advice we need to be able to pick out specific parts to either correct or expand or even just agree for emphasis on really key points.

How do you post a working email address?
This is really important for posting competitions that you enter by email.
forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com
I can't post a working email address. The line above was created as shown below. The upper pic shows the creation, the lower pic shows that it has accepted what I did, but when you click on the link it goes to https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/

And only if you can find the quote button.
Which I can't find.

Its a downgrade if i cant figure out how to post a pic from a URL in 10 seconds, And now i see you just paste the correct url and it pops up, That will confuse new users every time when the pic upload button won't let you do it.
And now i see its embedding the image with all the imgur junk rather than just posting the image as i wanted.
And a downgrade if i can see the post code.

It's the icon (that looks similar to a music note) running alongside the Reply box as you type.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Please can we have a "PREVIEW"
The previous editor had a "Preview" button next to the "Post Comment" or "Save Comment" buttons so you could check the formatting and any links before posting. I know you are supposed to get exactly what you see for formatting purposes, but checking links would be valuable.
