When Martin Lewis does his radio and TV shows, he does often mention Agile and Tracker in passing - he says something like - I know many people are very pleased with this tariff and have done well with it recently but be aware that the prices could go up a lot.  He doesn't mention that the tariff has no lock in period.

And that's the problem, once you understand there is reward with very little risk as long as you check in or set yourself up to receive the daily emails then that's it.

ML and MSE have to cover their reputation by realising 99% of people cants be bothered checking their energy prices and just want a monthly DD amount in £'s and pence.

I'm completely obsessive - I download the tariff into an excel spreadsheet then revisist to download my usage and calculate my spend daily.  I'm averaging a saving of a third on the capped price which I'm quite happy with.  Have yet to have a summer of Agile so quite looking forward to seeing what extra savings the sunshine brings ...

Deep seated hatred of Scottish Power and all who sail in her - would love to see Ofgem grow a pair and actually do something about it.

Trouble is Martin has to dumb down to a level the average person can understand. There's huge numbers of people who don't understand their DD and bills and make little effort to learn. Trying to get the complexities of Tracker and Agile across to these people would be (A) difficult and (B) irresponsible.  Neither is a switch-to-and-ignore-forever tariff.

    And very cheap days following

The important bit is average for the month including peak is 15.9p for those that don't load shift and 13.7p.or lower for those that do.

It's all about average tbh not the odd day.

I wasn't trying to imply it was anything else.

Saved about £11 vs Tracker over the past month

Well, these average numbers only make sense if your usage is spread evenly across the day. If you come home at 4pm from work, put electric heating on, start cooking, washing and charge your EV car.. then hmm.. then you'll match SVR 😉

From where are you getting that?

Our green credentials: 12kW Samsung ASHP for heating, 7.2kWp Solar (South facing), Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh), Net exporter

Well then you shouldn't be on Agile if you are doing all those things from 4pm. Bit of an idiot move 🤣🤣🤣😉.

That's like suggesting someone on economy 7 puts their storage heaters on to charge during the day. (Got any other fantastic scenarios for burning cash?)
